  1. I got my reminder to check-in online yesterday, for our 4/10 Victory cruise. I don't know how the delayed boarding email looks. This is the email I received. Is there something they send out closer to departure (I am 35 hours from boarding):

    Dear Carnival Victory Guest,

Your cruise is right around the corner and we want to provide you with important information to help expedite your embarkation process.

    • If you haven't already done so, please visit us at www.carnival.com/Onlinecheckin to select your check in window and complete your Online Check-In. A check-in time will automatically be assigned to guests who do not pre-select a window.
    • Cruise terminal doors will open at 10:30 AM for all guests. Please plan to arrive at the cruise terminal within the check-in window you selected online, unless you are Priority or have purchased Faster to the Fun, then, you may come at any time after 10:30 AM.
    • You will need your printed boarding pass, picture ID and citizenship documents to enter the terminal.
    • If you plan on opening an onboard cash account, please do so at time of check-in.
    • Boarding for all guests is scheduled for 12:30 PM.
    • You may access your stateroom at 1:30 PM. If you are a Diamond, Platinum guest or have purchased Faster to the Fun, you may proceed to your stateroom as soon as you board.
    • While you wait for your stateroom to be ready, please proceed to Lido Deck and grab a bite to eat or feel free to get acquainted with our public areas.
    • Our housekeeping team will work to get your checked luggage to you as soon as possible. However, keep in mind that given the volume, this may take us several hours to complete. Alternatively, you may hand carry your luggage on board if not larger than 16"H X 24"W.

In preparation for departure, all guests must arrive at the cruise terminal no later than one hour prior to the ship's scheduled departure time, or risk being denied boarding.

We are looking forward to welcoming you aboard for a FUN and memorable cruise vacation.

    See you soon!

    Sincerely,"

  2. No problem... I'm super stoked about my upcoming trip and did a little research in advance, and I heard that there is no "Guys" on board. I will report back with what I experienced. We did purchase CHEERS and I will let you know what worked for us. (I'll try to report any bartenders/bars who took good care of us since your date is not too far behind ours.). ;p I'll also try to keep the dice warm for you in the casino. If there is anything specific you want me to take a photo of let me know...

  3. I know there have been a few CC fanatics that have been on her pretty recently, and they have posted some great reviews. We are due to head out on her this Monday, 4/10. Is there anything specific you want you know? I can see if I can find out for you and let you know.:confused:

  4. O yes. I saw it so many times -night time they party and dance like crazy and in morning of debarkation they all in wheelchair to be first on from ship.

It reminds me of the classic "Hallelujah" flights, when there use to be 20 people who showed up to the gate to get on an airplane stateting they needed to board early because they needed the extra time. But when the flight landed, "Hallelujah", they don't need any help to get off. In fact they shove people out of the way to try to get off faster.

  5. I will gladly be your personal lounge-chair butler, as long as you pay for my cruise passage. My only job will be to get up at the crack of dawn and sit in your pre-approved chair until you arrive to for premium sun time. Then, if necessary, I will return to your chair so you can go eat lunch at your leisure.

    Deal?

    ;p

This would be the idle job for when you retire. Sign me up too. Lol

  6. Can you use your s&s card? It has a magnetic strip. Just a thought that way you don't have to worry about people searching in all the hiding spots mention hear.

I don't know if it would work with multiple cards. They should have the same coding to unlock the cabin door. Might need to try it out.

  7. I really wish Carnival would come up with a uniform policy of what their actions will be in cases like this and stick to it. I don't care how much some idiot passenger wants to try to intimidate a crew member or corporate employee to get their way.

If the contract says their not entitled to anything, then they're NOT ENTITLED!

Then when the fools go running off the media to cry "woe is me", the cruise line can say "here's what we do in this situation and the passengers acknowledged as much when they accepted their cruise contract". No wavering. Stop giving people compensation on a one-off basis and stop opening the door for crap like this to happen.

I am in total agreement. In fact every passenger agrees to the cruise contract and the itinerary change policy which states that Carnival can not be held liable nor will issue a refund due to acts beyond their control to include cancellation of a port of call. They must refund a port fees and taxes for any missed ports which are given as an onboard credit. You must agree to these contracts in order to book your cruise. The details are in the fine print.

My prayers go out to all those affected both directly and indirectly by this unfortunate event.

  8. we had the top tier at $119 for the week and it's always slow, just slower during peak usage. Streaming is nearly impossible. I logged onto whatsmyspeed.com and never got over 3 Mb, during peak periods it took 2-3 minutes just to load

How recent was your experience? Where and what ship? I wonder if it depends on the ship's wifi more than its satellite connection?
