Not that this has anything to do with anything, but -----why does your husband not have Diamond status like you do?  If he lives with you, and is your husband, he's entitled to the same status as you are.  Just call C&A and get his changed to yours.

I had NO idea you could do that! I've just been cruising a lot longer than he has, so I figured that is just is what it is. Thank you for the heads up! Awesome 🙂

  2. My long term cruise hiatus strikes again! I assume I know everything about cruises and apparently times have really changed in my absence. Talk to me about assigned check in times at the pier.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great idea! My issue is that due to my own tardiness to check in online, I am left with a 2pm check in time and my hotel check out time is 11am. I'll be in Port Canaveral, so it isn't like there will be a ton to do- I would rather get right to the ship. Are these recommended times to check in or is it strictly enforced? I don't want to step on toes or not wait my turn, but I also don't want to be sitting around wishing I could start my vacation either! Feedback is appreciated!

  3. Pardon my ignorance, but it's been a while for this once avid cruiser. My last cruise (after a long hiatus) was on the Empress and there was no formal night. I have a 4 night Mariner coming up in a few weeks- should I plan for formal wear or just be casual? While I generally would prefer to be more casual and relaxed on this trip, I just KNOW that I will feel like I am missing out if I am among just a few dressed down. Thank you for any insight you can provide!

They had Truly berry and Henry's Lime on Navigator. They had it at both the Lime & Coconut & Solarium bar. I don't know if that is fleet wide though.

Oh, would I love to see Truly on the Mariner next month! Would be such a refreshing poolside treat and welcome break from the delicious, yet sugar overload in frozen cocktails.

  5. Hi Cruisers! I was once an avid cruiser, but having taken the last few years off, I feel a little left behind in so many changes! Previously, I've stayed at the Radisson and used their shuttle service to arrive at the port, but they are booked solid for my dates, so that isn't an option. I've been researching a little, but haven't found much information. Can anyone speak to the ease of using the parking at the port? It is pricey, but might be worth it to avoid crowded shuttles. I've also pondered signing up for another hotel's "park and cruise" option and using an uber to arrive instead of shuttles in that case...can you tell I haven't had great experiences with shuttles in the past?

Any information that can be offered is appreciated!

  6. I got a good one. My sister and her husband forgot the most important thing ever "the time" while at a port they forgot to turn their clocks up an hour, they heard a horn blow, looked over and said "hey that looks like our ship" you betcha they missed the boat!!!!! No credit cards no ID just sign and sail card and few bucks, trust me they had a hard hard time getting back to the US.:(

Oh my gosh! How on earth did they get home??

  7. Because my soaps...shampoos...body washes...and razor...were just small enough to always fall through the "cracks" of the wire shelf. Do you know how HARD it is to try to scoop something up off the floor of a wet shower, when you're basically inside a test tube???!!

I had that same problem but solved it by putting an extra washcloth over the wires and everything stayed where it was supposed to. I use a scrubbie so there was always an extra washcloth to use :)

Honestly, how has it NEVER occurred to me to use a washcloth to keep things from falling through the rack? Genius!

  8. It's a shame that you feel that you have to do that though. Be yourselves! If anyone has a problem, it's just that, THEIR problem.

The Baron speaks the truth. Life is both too short and too long to be worried about other people's judgement.

    Happy cruising :)
