I would do the same Em.

Have a fantastic time, I think I saw on another thread that you are off to the Fjords on Britannia?

We did this cruise last year, it was absolutely fantastic. The Fjords are stunning and we loved Britannia, so I am sure you will have a great time.

Dont try to overdo it, there are plenty of peaceful spots if you need time out.

Yes, that's right. I can't wait. I am going to soak all of the scenary up, and I'm taking plenty of books so I can relax and read too.

  2. Hi,

We are on the Norway cruise going this Saturday. My brother lives in Norway and he has told us that it is a cashless society and everywhere prefers you to pay by card. But you will need some change for the public toilets.

    Hi Em,

Firstly, so sorry to hear about your condition, keep your chin up, your girls need you smiling.

Sadly, I think you will struggle awaiting surgery, it is usually the first question insurers ask.

All I could suggest is getting a letter/email from your consultant advising you are fit to travel and that your condition is unlikely to cause an issue then call some of the travel insurance specialists, not online, and see how you get on.

Good luck and have a fantastic cruise.

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for your kind message. I hope you and your wife are doing well.

Yes, it appears that you are right. I've spoken to several insurers and they are unwilling to insure me until I am post-op. I have partial insurance though, so if I break my leg etc, I will be covered. I'm not going to let this spoil my holiday with my family. We are really looking forward to getting away this weekend.

  4. Hi,

I hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread. I was diagnosed with cancer at the end of February. I've just finished chemo and I've been told to get away with my husband and two young girls before my surgery. We are going on a cruise at the end of this week but I can't find anyone that will insure me because of the fact I am due surgery. Can anyone recommed a company that may be able to help me. I've tried the ones mentioned in this thread.

    Thanks
