What's unbearable about it ?

I got off today. Just watched her sail out of Sydney Harbour without me after 168 days :-(

To offload medical emergency passenger. Costa Luminosa :eek: is there and we will be using her tenders to disembark the passenger.

We made a 25kt passage overnight and are now back on schedule for an on time arrival in Montevideo.

Weather is a bit murky.

Just sailed 6 hours late. I guess we will have to turn up the gas on the way South

4 hours late. Still here. Heat and humidity are bad signs from electric motors

It seems Pod 3 is playing up again. Too much heat and humidity and they are having to vent the pod to reduce the temperature before we can sail from Rio. I suspect the original 3 hour delay may be an under estimate.

Captain wells relieved Captain Opey today

We are still in Lisbon. The Harbour Master has decided to embark on his own job justification scheme and has decided to delay us until he has come on board and satisfied him self all is well. Until he does that we can't or a pilot which delays things even more. Doubtful we will make Vigo but Southampton arrival will not be affected.

The pod problem has been resolved. Until the next time anyway. Sailing at 7pm

QM2 had a minor fire in the gas turbine exhaust today. As a result we had a two minute power outage. Following the reset the problem with number 3 pod has resurfaced and we are remaining in Lisbon until the problem has been fixed. I suspect we will skip the call to Vigo tomorrow.

She will also undergoing additional refurbishment work in 2017. No details yet.

I'm a passenger. No announcements so yet again, I presume the problem is fixed. We have just sailed from Southampton to Madeira.

Southampton disembarkation was as normal. In Southampton doing some shopping. 5pm departure for Madeira. I will report any news if announced. New satellite dish going on today

QM2 is arriving into Southampton at 1.30am Thursday to enable further repairs to be made to the defective number 3 pod. I will keep the board posted as I'm on here for the next 3 months.

GE engineers came aboard today and fixed the problem. Case closed.

No further announcement from the Captain. I assume the issue is solved. We have just sailed for NY.

Because this ship can get in and out of NY and Southampton with aid of tugs. Her speed is not affected. Don't be concerned. More tomorrow.

Don't panic. It will not affect the NY to Soptn trip.

I will keep the board posted.

The Captain has just said that they have not been able to fix the problem so far. They do not know the cause of the problem. They tested it two hours ago and the pod went into "alarm".

Arrival tomorrow is in question.

I would like to thank everyone for their responses and encouragement. If all goes well I will be aboard. Just got to move house first.

She will come anyway. She goes everywhere else with me. I suspect she's already done a world cruise. But that's not what I was thinking of. Ha, I might even book cabin 6065!

I am contemplating doing the QM2 world cruise next year. No chance of getting anyone else along for a cruise that long and I'm resigned to having to pay a 100% supplement. I would be interested to hear from any singles that have done this before. If its not suitable for singles its good to know now. Thanks.
