Hi - just wondering what people’s experience has been recently with being assigned seats to sit together on Caribbean flights? The seat booking option to pay for this is now closed for our cruise but I thought they would be keeping couples/groups together on flights due to covid? But reading elsewhere it seems not. Many thanks

@simmydwHi… just wondering if you know anymore what the laundrettes/laundry service situation is onboard? Are we best packing for having none? Cheers

Quite. There was a hint on the news this evening that the coming home test maybe LFT instead of PCR. Another point is if you have to have a test before you arrive, why do you have to do another on day2? Of course, we have just booked our day 2 one and will just have to hope we can get a refund if it becomes unnecessary. Not holding out too much hope though.
we were notified today that our cruise (Azura Christmas and New Year) has lost 4 ports. 2 have been replaced by calls elsewhere but the others have been abandoned to sea days. A lot of people won’t be very happy about that.
Just out of interest… which ports have been cancelled and what 2 did they replace with?

Your comment isn’t terribly informative unless you clarify whether you are talking about £100 a night in total or per person and what type of cabin you are referring to. The OP is talking about a balcony cabin. I presume you might be talking about an inside? If so, then that’s chalk and cheese, especially on the older ships where there are fewer balcony cabins and they carry a bigger price premium than the newer ships. Of course, if you are talking about a balcony cabin on Oceana for that price then your comment is entirely relevant and I apologise.
Our last 14 night cruise on Oceana in a well located balcony cabin was under £43pppn (booked 4-5 months in advance). For £6000, I’d be wanting a suite.

£6000!!.....wow....how long a cruise is it for....7 or 14 nights?....whichever...that is way over the top for a guaranteed cabin
Wow... I Agree! This is sounding more and more like the blame sits with your travel agent not fully explaining the risk of saver fares with cabin allocation (and not knowing enough about Oceana!). I’m guessing it’s a med fly cruise - still very expensive! I can fully understand why you’re so upset

I’d be annoyed as well, but when you say you’ve paid for a guaranteed balcony cabin, was it a Saver fare? If so, because you can’t choose the cabin on saver fares, it’s a risk with Oceana with the number of fixed bed cabins. The only way to avoid would be a Select fare and choose your cabin at time of booking and selecting the no upgrade option. It’s pants though - as a couple, who’d want a ‘railway’ cabin that has one of the lower twin beds folding up against the wall?!!

Looking at the description, with one lower twin fixed and the other folding against the way, I’m guessing it’s unlikely it can be made into a Queen
