  1. Apologies if this has no doubt been asked hundreds of times before.

The US requires a negative COVID test for entry into the country when arriving by air. Does the same apply for those arriving via cruise ? I'm getting conflicting info.

If so - what is the situation for those cruises that are meant to depart from Vancouver and arrive in Seattle. Will Royal be testing pax onboard prior to docking in Seattle ? Is it every person for themself and you are reliant on an "online" test option that you need to bring with you onboard ? Any other options ?

  2. "

Impacted guests will be able to “Lift & Shift” their 2021 sailing to 2022 to retain their current rate and promotions.  However, the new 2022 sailing must remain on the same ship, same itinerary length, same stateroom category, and within one week pre/post the original sailing date.

Bookings including a Celebrity Alaska or Canadian Rockies Cruisetour may also “Lift & Shift” to the same tour next year, based on availability.

To “Lift & Shift” the booking, contact Celebrity Cruises at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide.  Note, there is currently not a deadline set to “Lift & Shift” bookings placed “ON HOLD”."

    From the Celebrity site

  3. Could someone post the full letter they received from Celebrity regarding Alaska 2021 bookings ... specifically what are the restrictions in terms of moving the cruise to 2022 ... date / vessel / itinerary restrictions ? A week either side ? A month either side ?

    Many thanks

  4. The Floating Festival debacle has impacted thousands of travellers ... and the prospect of refunds from FF does not look positive. It would appear that after the 2020 cruise was postponed, FF continued to sell cabins for 2021 despite not having a signed charter agreement in place for the new dates - hence RCL never pulled the inventory from sale.

  5. "First I know where your coming from... the mass market hype of providing special recognition for special people for $$$$ the faux elite I call it....like I am a "Neptune's Darling" " Royal elite" classes...."

I enjoy the evening snacks ( or canapes if you will ;-) that Royal offers in their Concierge lounge during cocktail hour and trying to determine whether Oceania offers anything comparable ?

Their lounge is clearly a waste of time being inside with zero view - so don't see the point of that at all.

  6. Contemplating trying Oceania ... are the 'cocktail' snack offerings in the lounges similar to that which Royal offers in their Concierge Lounge / Celebrity offers in Sky Lounge ?

Does Oceania offer any cocktail / evening snacks in any other lounges ( preferably one with a view ? )

  7. Embarkation was an unmitigated disaster. 4 hours wait from the time we arrived to the time we finally got on board ... refugees have a better time.

Neverending lines, ridiculous lack of planning = one unmitigated disaster.

The blame rests equally with Celebrity. They know FULL WELL that Canada Place is unable to cope with 3 ships and thus shouldn't place their passengers in a scenario where they will experience such a collapse of basic organisation.

Celebrity advised pax to arrive after 12 noon which was the worst possible thing you could have done - it was peak crunch time.

Port of Vancouver needs to redo their schedules. They simply cannot cope with 3 ships ... and they all know this ... but yet do nothing about it.

    Shameful.

To anyone sailing out of Vancouver - be sure to check the port schedules. If there are 3 ships departing Canada Place - reconsider your options. YOU DO NOT WANT TO SUBJECT yourself to this embarkation horror.
