Hi
when a ship goes into dry dock, is it Guaranteed to come out of dry dock on time.....or is there always a delay risk ?
-
Hi.....anyone know how many passengers onboard ?
-
That is a very empty area..only 10 pm as well.....I wonder what it will be like on the 20 of February......on our wedding anniversary cruise.
-
A nice relaxing cruise....can’t wait for our Feb cruise on this ship....please keep the updates coming 😘

Hi

Good to get reports.....be interesting how many onboard ?

Just read this from a passenger on Queen Mary. Now we are almost back to the UK our Christmas cruise as there have been lots of rumours. The sail home has been fine, good weather and calm seas so far, expecting it to become more choppy towards home on Monday.
The people who had to isolate and have done the requisite time are out now! Some people still isolating as we had further test before leaving Barbados. We spoke to a lady yesterday who had tested positive after Christmas and she couldn’t praise Cunard enough. She’d had an inside cabin and they moved her to a balcony room, delivered her wine each evening, as she had the drinks package, said she could order whatever food she wanted. I don’t know if you’ve seen an article in the daily mail with a couple (photo of messy room and sad faces) moaning about food on paper plates etc, but they omitted to mention they have had 125% reimbursement for the the 2 week Caribbean leg.
Barring the fact that we missed out on Caribbean ports, it hasn’t affected us personally. We had a day out in Barbados and then 3 or 4 days anchored out in the bay with glorious weather and all the facilities available on board. All the gala evenings have gone ahead, the food has been fabulous and although we couldn’t dance in the Queens Room, there have been parties with live music and dancing out on the deck.
Cunard haven’t confirmed how many covid cases there have been, so any numbers are pure speculation. The fact that the next 4 day cruise has been cancelled I think is so that they can take all the Christmas trees down and give the whole ship a deep clean for the next one!

Any news from passengers onboard...hoping all are ok and that the crew and passengers are not coming down in high numbers with the covid strain...

Must be quite scary being taken off by helicopter.......but also worrying for chap with his elderly dad in Lanzarote ....hope they get home ok.....Will it be Cunard or their insurance who pay for the flights back to the UK ?

That's great - I hope that there's not too many Covid-curtailed activities.
One of the programmes advertised:
Self Help Express Check-out In Southampton. Sign up for express disembarkation at the Purser's Office. You must be able to carry all of your own luggage.
Does anyone know more about this or recommend for/against?

Self embarkation is my preference choice as means I can keep hold of all my luggage overnight, and better plan the train I am going to catch home.We agree on the above....

WE are booked for Feb 2022 for 14 nights on Queen Elizabeth...hoping we will sail

I think Cunard and other cruise lines will now use the experiences and the science to have a protocol in place before new sailings....
This will take a period of time and measures will now be reactive to get passengers home as best as possible ( that is the big issue now )
We all know now that even if we have the booster vaccine we can still catch the virus, but the booster should hopefully prevent what was happening with the first strains and no vaccines ?
Worldwide travel is amazing, but the risks that it produces of travellers bringing new strains of the virus to our countries will always be our biggest challenge and you cannot mitigate this risk......just reduce the risk?
We all know it will never be the same as before 2019, but we can adapt and use all the knowledge and experience to help us......move forward.❤️

Cruising going through a period of make or break.""..... seacations on short durations might help,in this period of time....it helped before....

Leeds castle in Kent

A castle that has stood the test of time, it’s adapted over the years to have guests stay and keep them safe.....that’s what Cunard and cruise lines will keep doing adapting and have protocols to keep afloat.....let’s all look forward to when we can all hug again and meet new friends......

If anyone on the Queen Mary gets more information.....it would be good to know how the situation is now onboard with passengers with covid.
Due to not stoping at ports the ones with the virus cannot cannot be moved to a hotel......THAT MEKES YOU THINK THEY COULD BE USING THE Queen. Victoria to facilitate, for the covid passengers to achieve safer quarantine...?

When cruising stopped, I sent a suggestion to get cruising started with the mini seacation cruises, Cunard and other cruise lines adapted and started sailing again.......We now know the world will never be the same as before 2019, so cruise lines will have to keep adjusting and adding processes to keep afloat ( excuse the pun ).
Yes there is a risk as we have seen and we are now fully aware, you can try and mitigate risks.......but it is what it is at this period of time.
So let’s all keep looking forward to that time we board the ship and smile into the camera......happy sailing🛳🛳🛳🛳🛳- 2

We have been told that our cruise is now swapped over to the Q E.....but I cannot see this on the Cunard web site and our friends now want to join us on this late November 4 night, but cannot find the cruise under Q E to book ?

I wonder if they are basing the cancellations by staterooms.........every other cabin will now not to be occupied now due to the lowering of passenger numbers......this would leave a space of a stateroom either side.
only a guess and that’s how the passenger gets to cruise or cancelled

Just checking on the list of requirements to get onboard.....let me know if it’s missing any items.
1. Booking reference
2. Two vaccine injections and proof
3. Get insurance that covers seacation in U.K., ( any votes on the best one )
4. Go on V P....add a photo, .....plus ?
5. Are Health questionnaires been sent out on separate emails ?
6. Get boarding time
7. Go to Mayflower Terminal for pre lateral flow test before parking 🚗
8. Drop off cases at shipTerminal
9. Park car or they park car
10. ........TBC

HI Esprit .....This is good information, how can I check it’s sailing away from the dry dock on the 26 of October, in preparation to sail back to Southampton?.....then I can feel more confident the cruise will go ahead....we had a cruise cancel last year, 12 hours before we about to board...
