I tried to go on the airline website to upgrade our seats but it says our tickets are "still pending." I've paid off our cruise and flight through Carnival. Our last cruise I was able to get on the airline sight and upgrade them, this time I'm being told I can't until they finish ticketing our flight in November. If I've paid in full the cruise and the flight why won't they finish ticketing/paying it until then?

We always pre-pay gratuities and tip extra. We tip the porters really well to ensure our luggage is taken care of. We tip our head waiter extra on the last night of the cruise. We bring a thank you card and put extra tip in it for our room steward. We save extra through the year so we can give (probably too extra) big tips. My mom likes to say we "live rich" when we cruise, LOL!

I am loving this review! Can't wait to see the Conquest stuff as we'll be on her in December.

I turned it down.

Not sure about the Conquest -- haven't been on it in years. I prefer to be sandwiched between two passenger decks. I would have to look at the location and see what's around and what's above and below before I agreed to that.
I think we'll end up staying on Deck 7 for that reason, terrified the noise would be too much.

That's better than my upgrade offer...On the Glory, "upgrade" from a balcony on lido to an ocean suite on empress for the low price of $1202!
That's insane!

For our December cruise on the Conquest I just got an upgrade offer to move from our mid-ship balcony on deck 7 to a mid or forward ship balcony on deck 9 for a total of $18...I don't think I'm going to take it. Wouldn't foot traffic and noise be an issue there?

When I got my passport in 2015 I listed my dad as my emergency contact. He passed in March. Do I have to send to update that or I read when I Googled there should be a place in the passport book to write in pencil another emergency contact? I will check for this page when I get home but wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar issue. I never dreamed my dad wouldn't be here three years later.

We had #8, it's right down from the bathrooms and right in the middle, which the walk to the pirate ship bar and the BBQ area wasn't far at all. Warning though: it's pink :)

How did you go about getting a discount with your AARP card? My mom is an AARP member and we'd love to save 10%.

Pros/Cons to booking Early Saver vs. Past Guest offer or other sale?

Have been on Carnival once and considering NCL next and I have a couple questions:
1) Does NCL have something like Carnival has Faster To The Fun?
2) Are the entertainment/shows free?
-
:o
Take the NCL cruise then. It's a better deal and NCL is great. You're saving a lot. Contrary to what a lot of Carnival cruisers believe, there are better deals elsewhere. Remember, cruises vary in price week to week. The aft-balcony cabin on my Horizon cruise is $1100 more only one week earlier.:o:oWow that's a big jump.

We had to cancel our cruise for this March due to my mothers medical emergency. When looking at the price to go on the same one (itinerary and ship) next March it is $400 more...that's not nice considering I found a cruise on Norwegian $100 less with $100 OBC, 3 visits to specialty restaurants, and unlimited beverages/drinks.
-
Thanks for posting and I hope you're feeling better. My mom and I just had to cancel (it was 22 days until cruising) because she went into heart failure and has cardiomyopathy. She has to wear a wearable defibrilator for three months which meant no cruising. I'm hoping our process with AON goes smoothly and we'll get our money back so we can try again next year.

This is not the menu that we had on the last few shorter cruises we sailed on. No lobster. I googled and found this' date=' which seems to be right. https://cruiseradio.net/photos-carnival-menu-for-formal-nights/[/quote']
That Blue Crab Ravioli looks good.

We've already booked the Bamboo Beach VIP excursion but lately it's gotten some bad reviews; should we cancel it and do the Pearly Beach with lunch excursion instead?
-
I'd like to see them too, we're sailing in March.

Probably, assuming they have the ingredients. They have a wide variety of stuff, but if your drink calls for something really off the wall...
They are quite talented mixologists, IMHO, so they should be able to satisfy you.
EDIT: saw you reply just above mine. For those ingredients, the pool bars should be able to make that for you. Not sure Alchemy has the rum, colada mix, or banana, but I would bet those can be found at the RedFrog Rum Bar.
Thank you! :)
-
The ingredients for this drink (called a Jamaican Freeze where I used to get it) include Malibu pineapple rum, melon liqueur, pina colada mix, and banana puree.
-
Can someone tell me about the Alchemy Bar? If I take a drink recipe (from a drink I used to get at a restaurant years ago) can they recreate it?

Scheduled to cruise and stop there in March; my question is where would they possible reroute us to?

At sea last time I talked to my husband and family through Facebook messenger. My mom used her Trac phone; it even worked out in the middle of the ocean our first sea day and in ports. She called her sister that morning cause she woke up before me and was kind of panicking seeing all ocean out the window LOL

Where do you get the Blue Mountain Coffee in Ocho Rios?
