  1. Yes Bob, that's what we have. Early was booked. How do I schedule the my time dining? Can I do once we're on the ship?

If you think you'll prefer mtd, I would attempt to make the change asap...it is popular and will likely be full before the cruise date.

I tried to change from late traditional to mtd for a recent cruise. When I contacted rci customer service, I was informed that, if I had one, I would need to contact my travel agent to make any changes to dining plans. But, he also told me that it was already full for my sailing, so even if I were to contact my TA, there would be nothing they could do anyway. He was very friendly about it and simply recommended that I attempt to waitlist once onboard.

  2. Also, Royal no longer has corkage fees so enjoy your wine anywhere on the ship.

As far as anywhere on the ship, ymmv. There have been recent reports of attempted corkage fee charges when consuming personal wine/champagne in onboard bars/lounges. But, any restaurants, public open spaces and in your cabin should never incur a corkage fee.

  3. Were you able to upgrade just yours or you and the others in the same reservations!!!

The booking for the cruise was made by my wife. We are both listed under the same reservation. She was the traveller who received the promo email, I never did get one. My premium drinks package was reserved through her RCCL account (she doesn't drink, so we only got a single package), and my upgrade was honored, without issue. I did bring documentation, just in case, but it was not needed.

  4. Just wanted to provide a follow up on this topic...got this email last week and purchased Premium Package. (with much skepticism about the upgrade) :)

Boarded Freedom this morning and saw the 'PP' sticker on my sea card. Asked the agent about it; she was familiar with the promotion and referred me to 'any bar or cafe on the ship' to have it upgraded. I went to Cafe Promemade for some water, mentioned the promo, and the server promptly pulled out 'the list,' located my name on it, and replaced the sticker on my card with 'UP' on it. No additional documentation needed...Success! :)

  5. Update...

On the 10/11/15 cruise I was not given the "extra" mug for soda as promised upon arrival, but I went to the customer service desk and was quickly given one after explaining the promotion that was on during my booking. No hassle.

I found the premium coffee to be bad, and wasn't even that impressed with the fresh OJ, so I seldom used these perks of the Ultimate Package. Water was an issue as when I tried to get a larger water for shore excursions, I was denied and only given a small bottle. The large was to be in the Ultimate package...but...

We had several cruisers we met who were doing the Premium rather than my Ultimate, and they had the same perks as I did for boozy drinks. Without the "extra" soda mug, the Ultimate would have been a waste for me. With the DW using the soda mug she was given frequently, and without having to pay extra, it was worth it. (Side note...I never even used my soda mug once. Brought it home tightly wrapped in plastic as given to me)

Just an fyi: The only bottled water included in the Ultimate Package is Sparkling (375ml) or Still (500ml). The larger, 1L bottles (Evian) are not included in any combination drinks packages, but are available for purchase either individually or as a water package.

  6. Its over the counter. I buy it at Wal mart under the Equate brand as its cheapest there that Ive found. Its called Motion Sickness Relief "Less drowsy" - 25mg meclizine which is the same thing as Bonine. Bonine is just the name brand.

The ships will have it for free but most people like to start taking it 24 hours before boarding.

How much at Wally World? I just bought a bottle of 25mg/ea Meclizine, named Rugby (brand) Travel Sickness, 100 chewable tablets, for $4.19, at Costco. It's located behind the pharmacy counter, but it's non-prescription. Not that I'd ever need/use 100, but it does last two years.
