  1. I think they are moving some of their fleet around. My parents were going to be on the Prima as well, so I took a look and noticed in February 2025, 6 ships (Escape, Gem, Jade, Pearl, Prima and Spirit) don’t have itineraries.

For their sake, I hope something ends up in New England, they only really cruise out of NY or MA due to convenience and my mom not liking to fly.

  2. Last year on the Joy the staff told me they were unable to get Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey at the Vibe.  Now granted, I did not try giving them money to make it happen (I've always tipped at the end of the cruise for good service), and instead met another amazing bartender down in the Maltings Whiskey Bar that I hung out with after the Vibe closed down for the night until the late night comedy show next door.

I'll actually be back in the Joy Vibe next Saturday and may ask again since on land it's my go-to drink.  If I do, I'll report back and let you know how it goes getting other liquors there.

Taking with the theater production manager, Footloose is being replaced by the new NCL Wheel of Fortune

As someone that is going to be on the first cruise without Footloose, that is certainly a bummer to hear.  I'm not into the game shows but I love the traditional NCL production shows.

Thank you for all your updates - it is getting me more and more pumped for my upcoming departure!

  4. I purchased a Vibe pass for the first time last year since I was travelling with a first time cruiser who wanted to go all out.  Well, I will now never travel without the Vibe pass.  The bartending staff there was absolutely amazing and we had a great group of travelers we met and saw every day!  In fact, we started meeting up with them outside of the Vibe after hours for the themed parties.

I kind of miss the Carribean music on the deck, but I'll be honest, that band is not usually that good, so I can just bring my Bluetooth earbuds if that's all I'm missing!

  5. I'm also on the Joy at the end of the month and when I purchased the Vibe passes (in November 2022) it cost us $229 each.  That price could have changed in the past 11 months, but that was what I paid and what still shows on the section IAcruising mentioned.  I have read from some people online that they were told that once the Vibe is sold out online, that it is full and they don't save spots.  If they do - good luck and I'll see you there!

I'll be the one in the hot tub with a mudslide or strawberry daiquiri in hand!

  6. Well, I gave 7 options in my response of stuff she could do that was not hanging out with other teens, though I do STRONGLY suggest it, but if you are fixated on the spa and only the spa, you perhaps should have researched that beforehand as they will likely not budge on their age restrictions.  When I was a kid the only things I remember restrictions on were the spa/fitness center, certain late night shows, adult only pool, adult only sun bathing area, and travelling thru the casino.  Literally, nothing I wanted to do anyways.

Everything else I remember being fair game.

  7. It really depends on what your 17 year old is into.

Granted it's been 15 years since I've been in the program, but I loved the teen program when I was her age!  I was not the most outgoing kid but very rarely did I not find a group to fit in with.  I would suggest if she is going to spend any time with the teen program, to have her go on the first day as that's sort of when the cliques are formed.

Otherwise, depending on the ship, I always liked mini-golf, swimming, the occasional rock climbing, and watching the game shows.  Now-a-days they have laser-tag, obstacles courses, and race tracks (ship dependent of course).  Heck I'm 32 now and wish my cruise next month had the obstacle/ropes course - love it!

The bartenders were amazing and the crowds (at the Vibe bar area) were not too crazy

Would you happen to know the bartenders' names at the Vibe?  My last cruise and next cruise (next month!) is on the Joy and I'm wondering if I'll be fortunate enough to have any of the same Vibe staff.  Long shot, I know!

I cannot get past Step 7 Health and Safety

It may or may not be your case, but the person I'm travelling with couldn't get the green checkmark in that section either.  I pulled it up and I had to resend verification for his email in that section.  It wasn't very clear that that was the issue.

Worst case scenario, chat with NCL (phone call or even the online chat box).  They helped me out when my eDocs wouldn't process.

  10. A lot of the pre-cruise reservations may already be full.  For Cagney's one night, I was given the option of 4/6/8 at 9:30 PM only.  An NCL rep informed me they can only fill a certain percentage of the reservations before the cruise start and to book it when I'm on the boat.

Doesn't answer your question of if you can book 4 but only have 2, but just sharing my recent experience.

  11. Thanks for the review!  I'm going in a few weeks and the outlet situation is always good to know.  My buddy uses a CPAP, so it looks like I may need to bring an extension cord.  Would you happen to have the Freestyle Dailies by any chance?  Or at least the party themes, so I can bring appropriate attire 🙂

It used to be one voucher per person, now it’s two per cabin. Same number of meals now that they give more if there are more than two platinums in a room.

Hmmm that's must be what it was! I would typically cruise with my parents, so 3 Platinums in one room.  I was too young to care I guess when my dad was complaining about it haha.

The other thing is sparkling wine, although with having drinks package it’s just sitting there in the stateroom until the last day. Is it possible to take it off board when you go home?

You should be able to take it with you. My parents don't drink, and between the latitude bottle and the bottles from Le Bistro... they have at least a dozen in their closet at any given time.  They use them as host/hostess gifts when they go see family.
