Bought that in 2020 before shutdown for my Fitbit. My husband used it on his Apple Watch on our cruise last month. Worked out great.
I ended up ordering this for myself. Clipped it to my pocket or pants. It worked out great for me.2 Pack Retractable Badge Holders with Metal Belt Clip Waterproof Carabiner Badge Reel with Vertical ID Card Holder Portable Name Tag Holders for Card Keychain

I was told today that 55 Francisco has been taken over by another company as of March 1 but didn’t know who the new company was. 80 Francisco is under negotiations at this time with Impark.
The website gives you an error message and the phone # above ending in 4162 has been disconnected.
will be on a cruise on 4/23. Will look into the Ace lot. -
I agree try it out at home. Turn on airplane mode then connect to your WiFi and try making and receiving calls. It worked on our Panama Canal cruise without any problems. We have Verizon. My brother in law did have a problem at first. Told him to turn his phone off and back on and after that no problems.

I plan to cruise on 1/31 on the Ruby, I don't expect the crew to be police. If I don't like what is going on I will take responsibility for myself. Just like you do when you go out in public off the ship. LIfe goes on.

see you onboard on the 31st. Had a lot of friends and family ask me today if we were still going based on the news reports. Told them it was blown way out of proportion by the media and yes we were still going unless things really worsen.
I know passengers have been vaccinated and need to be tested 48 hrs before boarding. When I go shopping or out to eat I don’t know anything about vaccination status of people I’m around.
of course everyone needs to do what they feel is right for them.

Planned on filing my credit card dispute this week, now hoping I will not need to.

Received our refund back to our credit card today. Chose option #2. Was to be on the Grand 3/29. Not disputed just waited it out. Never any notification from anyone just kept checking credit card account everyday.
Everything refunded properly. FCD was expired so that was credited back.
FCC credited back in April.

I have received the canceled excursions back only, which I canceled a few days before Princess announced the suspension.
Same here. Canceled excursion money back to my credit card in a couple days. For our 3/29 canceled cruise nothing showing yet. I’m figuring at least a month at the earliest.

We were to be on that same cruise. Got our medallions last week. Took them out of their holder and they are now displayed on my refrigerator as a magnet.

Leck57- there were 4 of us on the cruise. ALL of us ALWAYS had our phones in airplane mode and were able to make and receive calls with the WIFI on connected to ships internet.

We were on the Coral about a month ago. Got the unlimited plan (medallion.net). You need to make sure you have set up wifi calling on your phone. Yes your phone should always be in airplane mode and always connected to ship WiFi. We did find problems sometimes in making a call - we turned phoned on and off and it solved the problem. We needed to stay in touch with caregivers also because of my parents - 97 and 99. You shouldn’t have any problems. You can also text and receive texts without a problem.
enjoy your cruise

Again thanks to all of you for your information. Did try out calling over wifi from home. Worked perfect. Airplane mode on/ wifi on.
Liked the cup and string. Made me laugh. Brought back childhood memories.

Thanks all of you. This is what I have been telling him but now he can look at what has been written from those that have done it. For the life of me I couldn’t figure out how there could be charges except as stated for the internet package.

Now he thinks there will be a cost for the calls. He will have purchased the unlimited internet package. I tried to tell him NO COST but needs verification AGAIN!

We will be going on a Panama Canal cruise on the Coral that has medallion Net. We are traveling with another couple. The husband is going to have to make calls home during the cruise. I had told him that he should be able to do it by putting his phone on airplane mode and connecting to the ships WiFi. His phone will be WiFi enabled to make and receive calls. He wants verification from experienced travelers/ those that have actually done this as to whether this is possible.
Thanks

Going on the Coral through the Panama Canal. Was curious as to anyone that has cruised through the Panama Canal your experience with the Internet. Just got off the Grand to Alaska and the internet was worthless. You could barely download emails it was so slow. We need to keep in touch with people back at home. Of course in an emergency situation they would call the ship.
Thanks for any information.

Drove to LA for the first voyage in the west coast. Was tired of always sailing on the Grand out of SF.
I disliked the balcony. We paid extra for caribe deck which on the Grand the balconies are a lot bigger. You can only sit sideways on the balcony it is SO small and we have a larger balcony because of a h/c room. My husband in his power wheelchair could barely move around. The rooms are also smaller.
I much prefer the Grand.
Medallions were nice. Even though mine stopped working on day 3 opening my door. We also had cards so I just used my card and never bothered getting a new medallion.
Only ate in buffet once and it was very nicely laid out.
Disliked the 2 person tables in dining room. You were right on top on people seated next to you. You might as well have been sitting at a large table.

If you have a lot of luggage I suggest dropping it off first at the pier then proceeding to the parking garage. We usually leave someone at pier with the carryon and another goes and parks car. As everyone has said it is an easy walk back from parking car to the pier. At the end of the cruise same thing. Porter puts luggage curbside and someone waits while car is retrieved. This is if you don’t want to pull luggage around the street.
I forgot you have to pay before. It has always been that way but forgot since in San Pedro you pay at the end of cruise.
Going under the GG is always fun. Never have missed it and have cruises out of SF almost a dozen times. It is fun going under the bridge and the people above waving.

I have seen tables as large as 10 passengers (cannot remember if they can easily set-up 12).
They can arrange seating based on the passenger reservations, if you have a large group, you (or your TA) will need to contact Princess and get the reservations tied together, so they can arrange seating. You might be put on a waiting list depending on when your cruise and the time you want to dine.
If you have anytime dining, it may be difficult to get a table for the full group each evening.
Thanks. Reservations are linked. Hoping for just 10 of us and that there is a table for 10. If we become 12 think we might be at 2 six tops.
-
Does anyone know the largest table size they have on the Grand? We will be a group if 10 or possibly 12. Wondered if they have 10 or 12 top tables.

Are you sure that the scooter will fit in the room? I can’t believe that the doorway of a standard room is wide enough for a scooter. I would double check on this.
-
Pam. Thanks for the information. Do you remember which nights were formal
Thanks

Instead of carrying a spare battery with you when you go ashore have you just thought about taking the charger with you?

As has been stated you will not lose any promotions that you have when you transfer the booking over to the BBTA. In fact your booking # will stay the same they will just give you a BBTA confirmation number also. I suggest if you are nervous about transferring the booking to call and speak with them.
The shipboard credit they give you will not show in your personalizer BUT it does show up on the paper work you get from the BBTA under included extras. I'd bring that paperwork with me when boarding. You will get something in your room about the shipboard credit that was gifted to you. Remember this is REFUNDABLE if for some reason you are unable to spend it all - which I cant imagine.
