  1. We had a very nice surprise yesterday.  We received a phone call from Tatiana at customer relations that she had heard we were unhappy (someone on HAL must have read my posts).  She wanted to know the exact details which I gave her.  She apologized with great sincerity and gave us a nice credit on our bill and dinner at Tamarind.  It was very much appreciated.  Customer service like this can make one feel much better about a bad experience.

  2. We will be walking for sure.  Our experience has gone from bad to worse.

We are just barely past midship, 8090, and we have had nothing but problems, especially with noise.  I don't know how I missed realizing we were below the Lido deck.  Non-stop noise 24 hours a day.  Combine that with drilling, sawing and hammering at every port when we should be able to relax.  Yesterday, we had to stay in our room due to illness and the air conditioning was not working because they were doing maintenance.  TV didn't work either.  My husband went to the Lido deck to get me a soft serve ice cream and all the machines were broken!!!  This ship should be in dry dock to get a total re-hab.

Our room stewards are great, thankfully.  But, we gave up on the MDR because we had such terrible service and are eating in the Lido or specialty dining. Lido servers are few and far between but we just get up and get our own water and iced tea.

I agree, when things like this happen, we simply say goodbye and move on to another product.  We love Celebrity and Azamara and will make them our choice from now on.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

  3. We are so disappointed in this ship.  Service everywhere has been spotty at best.  Today we are in Grand Turk and chose to stay on the ship to just relax.  Ha!  Drills, saws, hammering.  It is like they are in the middle of revamping the ship.  Shame on HAL!  This is our last cruise with Holland America.

  4. We cruised December 11-18 and parked our car at Midport. There were so many cruises leaving that day that we ended up having to park on the roof of the garage. We parked, locked our car and left. We had a full tank of gas.

When we came back and got into our car, there was NO gas and I mean, NO gas. We didn't think we could even make it out of the parking garage. We found the nearest gas station and filled up - 19.9 gals! It was obvious someone had siphoned the gas out of the car.

We did have our car checked out...brand new, so no issues. No leaks. There was no sign of forced entry.

Please beware when parking in the MIDPORT Garage and if at all possible, don't park on the roof!

  5. I will be on this cruise also, Heard Nothing but great things about the Wonder!

Thank you for your response. My sister is from Raleigh, NC and I am from Naples, FL (a recent move from MI). We would love to meet fellow cruisers. We will be sailing without children....ours are grown and having their own kids!

  6. My sister and I are going on the 4 day Bahama cruise on the Wonder, April 13.

I have been reading so many complaints about the Wonder on both Cruise Critic and several other cruise websites. I am astounded. I thought these cruises were the benchmark for all others. I was so excited and now am wondering if it is worth all the money!

    Anyone's input please?
