Keep in mind that airlines with limited flights are the only ones that fly in and out of there. Meaning if you miss your Allegiant Wednesday 1230 flight, you may not get on another flight until Friday.

Years ago, when our ship docked at the Outer Mole pier in Key West, the shuttle driver allowed us to get off the shuttle once we left the Naval Base. Do they still allow you to do this, or do you have to go all the way tot he Mallory Square drop off?

Since it stays light so late in Alaska, do they leave the curtains open in the MDR for dinner?

I have heard that people dress more casually in the MDR on Alaska cruises. Does this mean that more people wear jeans in the MDR on non-elegant nights?

Last year, I had to cancel my portion of a cruise 2 days before, because my father passed away.

My friend went on it by herself & Carnival did not charge her anything extra.

Fortunately, I had insurance to cover my portion.

Only one excursion available so far for my Alaska cruise in July 2017.

I really appreciate all of your feedback. Finally we booked the 8 days cruise on the Splendor based on the itinerary. Im sure my whole family is going to enjoy it. Im too excited!! :D

I prefer Noon but 11:30 AM is likely to be fine.

Yes...POM - Carnival Splendor on 10/30/2016

I would never consider a 10:30am flight, but I am seriously thinking about an 11:30am one on American. The price difference between this one and anything later is $200+ per person for us! ($450 vs. $650-$700 each) I have to be at work the next day, so staying one night post cruise is not an option.

For those familiar with MIA...other than the obvious reasons for a later flight (delays, customs, etc.)...what could be specific pitfalls that I am not aware of?

Ship arrives POM on a Sunday morning in late October. Flying American out of MIA.
