  1. We took a taxi (party of 7) with no trouble, and was less expensive than the minivan shuttles based on the pp rate. There were vans dropping passengers off every couple of minutes for the 45 minutes we were there. This was mid-July. We walked to Horseshoe so I don’t know if the availability going back to Dockyard.

  2. Okay, I did respond with quote this morning, but it never showed up.

Thank you so much for the suggestion of Salonpas. I ordered the cream and the roll-on. Even if it helps just a little, it will help my honey get through the day. In fact, I have an autoimmune connective tissue problem with pain in many areas, so I think it just might be helpful for me, as well.

Thanks again for your response and the suggestion.

    Best regards,

    Jennie

Happy that helped! Have a great trip.

  3. Thank you, everyone, for your replies. This is made by CBDClinics. It looks and smells like Vaseline and we bought it at the doctor's office. We've decided it's not worth the stress, so it's staying home. The cruise will allow adequate rest and his pain might not be as bad. The ship is small and there won't be much walking at all. This is very new to us (just started about three weeks ago) and we were skeptical, but amazed at how well it works.

We've been on more than 30 cruises, but this is our first on Oceania. It appears that it will be just the right "fit" for us. We are looking forward to meeting the nice folks that seem to be Oceania regulars.

    Thanks again

Have you tried Salonpas cream or patches? It’s lidocaine, over the counter. I use it for my shoulders & neck. I have RA and it takes the edge off the pain when it’s really painful. 70ec61588082c3dfa2143d5f6307bdea.jpg

  4. I bought a Kyss bag (http://www.kyssbags.com) a couple of years ago and have been very happy with it. It attaches to your chair or a nearby pole or tree. It is very sturdy and I also use it as my carry-on bag for air travel because I can stick my purse, phone, iPad and miscellaneous items in it.

Love my KYSS bag! Goes a lot of places with us, not just for travel. In fact, it’s headed to our local beach tomorrow.

  5. We were on the Summit July 22-29. An elderly woman from PA was detained the first morning we were in port. Rumors on board say she was still in Bermudian custody upon our departure. I happened to be at Guest Services the first day when her husband was pleading with Celebrity Staff to get an update on her or at minimum tell him where she was taken. It was quite sad. He appeared on his 70s and according the his story she was very ill and had the PA medical card. Still not legal. Should have done their homework. I can’t find any info on it in the papers.

We also had another couple surrounded at debarkation by about 5 agents and hauled off.

    It was an interesting cruise!

  6. We were on the Summit 2 weeks ago. A Hotel Officer let us know there is a sample of the new cabins also on the Summit. She did not tell us where or if it was the new infinite veranda & now I wish we did!

She helped us take a family photo then we got to talking. She actually took notes on our suggestions for the family corner veranda we were in (door bell, 3 twin beds instead of the pullout couch in the 2nd room, split bath and connecting to the concierge room on either side for extended families).

  7. I contacted Barefoot Bermuda. They suggested we take a ferry to Hamilton which would cut down on travel time from the ship. Would this make sense ? Do you recall how long the ride was to your first stop?

That would probably depend on what you want to do. We went straight to swim with the turtles which was a 15 min ride from Dockyard.

  8. Thank you! We will be sailing 8/12 on the Summit!

One question - was it chilly in the restaurants or bars? We are traveling with 2 other couples and on other ships one or more of the women were cold and wished they had a light sweater.

It can never hurt to pack a light sweater or pashmina. There wasn’t much on board like that to purchase. I was cold the first night without one. If you plan to spend time in the outdoor spaces (ex roof top movies) I would definitely bring something. It’s very windy up there when the ship is under way.

    Enjoy your trip!!

  9. Hello,

Yes, a partition of the balcony dividers can be opened. Also, if you haven't seen information on the connecting cabins on the Equinox before...just be advised that the cabins do not connect via a door inside the cabins themselves (like those seen on most ships/hotel rooms etc). Rather there is an outside vestibule area, with outer doors that can be closed off, allowing the 2 cabin doors to be propped open, thereby allowing passage from one cabin to the other. Hope this makes sense...If you are not familiar with the layout, there are many photos posted showing the configuration on various threads on here.

Enjoy...The S Class ships are some of our favorite ships !!

    BBL

Thank you. I had heard that before but forgotten until now. We have stayed at a ski resort with the same set up so that makes 100% sense to me.

  10. Thank you all for your replies! I am so spoiled by that aft family veranda. A simple side veranda seems pointless even though we’ve cruised with them before Celebrity. I’m interested in the Family veranda on the S-class. But also love how many connected cabins there are! Does anyone know if the dividers open?

  11. How late were the pools open to? I know they are less crowded during the day. My daughter is 12yo and hope she likes the teen club and meet a couple of friends

The pool times varied. They are in one of the files with all the venue opening times. We were surprised to see the pool closed at 7pm on Friday. We had been looking forward to a hot tub soak after an early dinner.

The pools were pretty busy on sea days starting around 11am until 3pm. We got there very early as both our 9 year old and I are early risers. Chair hogs were abundant but stuff was quickly removed if passengers asked crew to address.

  12. Missing 2 pages in each, suppose each Celebrity Today is 4 pages I only see 2

I did not scan the 2 pages with the descriptions of some activities and island information. I had people ask for the list of activities and venue hours, so that’s what I scanned and posted.

You are rude and obnoxious as I didn’t have to spend my time to post a damn thing.

    Peace.

  13. We've been on the Summit 2x now to Bermuda. We love the size of the ship and are completely intimidated by the mega ships. I found a sailing on the Equinox during our April Vacation week that I think we'd enjoy.

Talk to me about the differences between M & S classes. It seems like a much bigger ship with not much more passenger capacity. Bonus is more connecting staterooms so we can have 2 bathrooms!

What we love about the Summit: Aft Family Veranda, pool deck with lots of shade, fewer people and crowds, laid back atmosphere without all the commotion of slides/mini golf/wave rider/etc, great kids club for our 2 autistic kids, fantastic service. We found the ship easy to navigate and even when we were up running the kids here and there, the size is manageable. We don't do the specialty restaurants, save for some sushi, and enjoy a more laid back dinner in the buffet with the kids. We did the MDR on the first and chic nights.

  14. Clearwater is beautiful and clean! There are no big waves so it’s a very relaxing.

There are 2 outfits renting chairs and umbrellas. We rented from the Bermuda Triangle Experience. It was $35 for two chairs and 1 umbrella. The nice young man dragged our chairs away from the very small crowd already there. There were less than 100 people on the whole beach including the 2 local daycamps. Once tourists arrived, the women running the camps actually moved their kids way down the beach away from us. There was no need to do so, but that’s kinda the Bermuda way.

The beach bar had amazing drinks and food. I couldn’t eat anything there (news gluten free food) but my fellow travelers LOVED everything.

There is a brand new bathhouse with toilets. Outside showers with good water pressure.

There is a large grassy park with a nice playground. You can walk across the park to Turtle Bay Beach (no turtles that day). Or down a bit further to access the Nature Reserve. We spent the whole day in the water and on the playground.

By any chance did either you keep copies of the dailies?

We did!! Anything in particular that you’re looking for? I’ll try to scan them tomorrow and post.

  16. Two (2) quick questions, what was the time frame of the Muster Drill, if you recollect?

In which venue did you have lunch upon embarkation?

I never remember Muster Drill times and we do it every year! LOL Must be the champagne...

    TIA and bon voyage

    Muster was at 3:15pm.

My parents were in concierge and ate in the MDR for lunch. They said it was horrible.

We went directly to the pool, snagged the nice cushioned loungers between the two pools and made trips to the buffet for lunch. Ate right there on the pool deck. The kids were swimming by noon.
