  1. We both had the AIBP on our cruise and we never had an issue getting each other drinks as long as we had both cards to swipe. I believe you mentioned your husband is getting non-alcoholic package, if he brings up both cards to order a drink, you shouldn't have an issue. If questioned, he could say " Oh see, my wife is over there wearing the green hat! I'm getting her drink for her so she can relax". These bartenders are trained to spot dishonest people and people taking advantage of the system. However, we rarely had to get up and leave our perfect spot to get drinks, excellent service was our experience!

  2. I am of the the feeling that anyplace where my son (disabled vet) can't comfortably eat isn't for me. Tall tables and tall stools don't work well with wheelchairs. Yes, we have venues at home with tables and chairs of that sort but they also have tables that work for folks in wheelchairs. I understand that Princess is not a US based entity but it still sucks that this demographic is not even considered.

I think you may be referring to the Salty Dog, I did notice that wheelchair accessible seating is an issue. In SHARE, I saw many, many tables where a person sitting in a wheelchair and their guests could comfortably dine. I do agree that the Salty Dog needs better seating...but that's a discussion for another thread.

  3. This was a wonderful and accurate review of SHARE. We truly enjoyed our evening there and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate. We went on our last night, which was wise on our part as we would have gone at least one more time. I am curious what the new menu looks like and am a little sad that SHARE isn't on the Regal. We will miss the restaurant on our 2018 cruise.

Also, I am so happy to see so many fans of SHARE :):):)

  4. Oops ! We left our door open all night on our cruise...we had no idea we weren't supposed to! Our door never slammed and we didn't notice the humidity ( we're Arizonians so we would have notice ASAP). It was way to hot to leave it open when we were gone during the afternoon

    Oh well...

  5. I'm currently 6 months pregnant, and a nice martini in Crooner's sounds so perfect right now! Or a glass a wine being enjoyed anywhere!! Looking forward to February

Anyways, I was going to answer your question but you have good information.

have a glass for me tonight folks!

  6. The Sip n Sale we booked had one night specialty dining if you booked a mini-suite or a full suite. I have read that you can change the night and time you want to dine by calling the Dine Line or go directly to the venue you want to dine at the day you board to make a reservation.

Thank you! We booked a balcony...maybe one day we'll have suite!

  7. We booked our Panama Canal Cruise for Feb 2018 under the Sip n'Sail promo (we booked a balcony cabin)

We have never had the package before, but I am thinking that with all the sea days, it will be a valuable commodity.

Friends booked an inside cabin so did not qualify for sip n sail. They changed their booking to the 3 for free. Saved $500 on the fare, plus the gratuities.

It is a 15 day cruise. so well worth it for them to switch.

For us, unless the rate goes down enough to be able to pay for the beverage package, it doesn't make sense to switch.

    Happy Cruising!!!!

We booked a Jan 2018 cruise on the Regal under the sip and sail promo. We are having to fly from AZ to FL, and it's great we won't have to add the expense of a beverage package. We had the AIDP in Feb and it paid for it self after day 3! It was so nice to have whatever we wanted to drink when we wanted to drink it. This girl usually buys $5 wine, so i felt super indulgent enjoying a nice $10/glass!

    ENJOY!:)

  8. Yes - we are enthusiastic supporters of both Share and Salty Dog. We are happy that Princess is exploring new food ventures. Have eaten multiple times at both restaurants as well as many times at the Crown Grill and Sabatini's. Based on restaurant prices at home here in Las Vegas, these new restaurants offer good value for the price paid. Share would be much more expensive if it was located on the Strip.

We are not surprised that these restaurants might be empty on a 32-day cruise. We have noticed that the longer the cruise, the older the passengers and, hence, the less likely that specialty restaurants are busy. When we have been on shorter cruises (including on the Ruby), we have found that the specialty restaurants usually are much busier.

We will be on the Ruby Princess next week and look forward to eating at these restaurants once again.

EXACTLY! Longer cruises indicate older travelers, and if you're on a cruise for more than 2 weeks you probably won't go to a specialty restaurant more than twice, right? We enjoyed SHARE while on the Ruby in Feb. and there were at least 3-4 other tables occupied besides ours. It's a brand new restaurant and lots of people are afraid to even try it...which I think is silly. There is something very special about SHARE,and the concept of the restaurant on a cruise ship is unique.Share doesn't actually have a lot of tables on purpose, it's not supposed to be crowded and noisy bustling with people and activity. It was so lovely to have a 2 hour dinner that was quiet and rather intimate. Our server was lovely and because she didn't have 10 other tables to wait on, she got to know us !

The price isn't crazy at all...and we left feeling so full...but sad the dinner was over.

Before you say how horrible it is, I highly recommend you try it :)

  9. Many excellent tips and tricks for the Ruby! If you want to try a speciality restaurant, try SHARE! My husband and I LOVED the experience, menu, and the wine. A lot of people were mad that they replaced Sabatinis with SHARE, but the menu is truly fantastic and fresh. We went on the last night of the cruise which was wise on our part because we would have dined there again for sure.

  10. When we were on Princess in Feb. we brought one bottle of wine and one bottle of sparkling wine. We didn't end up using them ( our neighbors gifted us with a bottle that was much nicer :) ) however upon embarkation we were never asked if we had brought liquor and we didn't see any place to do so. When we were in port in Cabo, we bough a bottle of liquor and could have walked on the ship without reporting it ( we didn't place to drink it untill we got home anyway)

Why not try to bring a box of wine ( which I love) and see if you can get it passed? I'm curious if you could be able to ! Or you could bring the smaller boxes of wine.

  11. Enjoy your drink package! We bought ours for our MR cruise earlier this year, and we LOVED it! Cappuccinos/Mimosas/Bloody Mary's in the morning, drinks by the pool in the afternoon, pre dinner drinks, wine/champange with dinner and post dinner martinis! It's the best !!!

And we didn't have ONE hangover ! Fruity drinks at the pool bars aren't very strong.

  13. I'm not a seasoned cruiser by any means, only 2 under my belt! However, we love sea days! I found a book in the library about wine, which I found very interesting and educational! My husband found a book to his liking, and we sat in the loungers with ever flowing drinks and we wasted a whole afternoon like that! I think we got up around 4 to get ready for dinner and drinks.

    I love sea days!
