  1. You should be ok. We had 3 fully paid bookings ,1 in April and 2  inJune. Waited until Azamara cancelled and claimed refund via TA.

    Deposits paid back to our credit card Some weeks ago. Remaining amounts were received from TA today. 
    We were also able to transfer deposit on September Black Sea cruise to a new March 2021 booking . Cape Town-Lisbon.

  2. General comments cause me some concerns. I’m a U K customer, waiting for money refund for fully paid fares for 2 cruises cancelled by Azamara with a deposit on another, final payment due late May. Bookings and payments were made through a TA. Am I ATOL protected if Azamara got into liquidation?

     

  3. Booked on cruise which leaves 21 st Jan 20, can't wait.

    How can I find out the ship embarkation address? other than wait for ticket brochure?

    Also is there anyway of finding the Azamara Evening event date in advance?

     

  4. We booked Black Sea September 202 when we were  on a cruise in September 2018.

    Just looked at present prices , almost double.

    There are  lot of complaints in other pieces about cheaper deals closer to the cruise date. Our policy has generally been to book on board well in advance. Sometimes we see offers on our booked cruises but when we check our booked price is lower.

    I think Azamara alter the pricing structure to make the offers look more attractive.

  5. I normally don't bother with these promos and concentrate on enjoying what I have paid for. This has always worked in the past and have always had a great cruise experience.

     

    Had a little time on my hands so was just experimenting. Just like to know why I'm not eligible. Your suggestion , which seems reasonable , suggests that "not eligible" is  code for the next level up is unavailable.

  6. Cruise is 86 days off, full amount paid.

    Just tried to log onto upgrade programme. Reply states " not eligible".

    I,m Discoverer Plus, paid appropriate fare and am registered on the Azamara system. 

    Don't understand the rejection.

    Has anyone else had this response?

     

  7. Happy memories, New Years Eve party in the Caribbean, pool deck party celebrations.Captain Jose standing on the stage wearing a pink feather boa over his uniform. That's what Azamara is about and Captain Jose was a great brand champion.

    Many innovations have been introduced , some large and some small. Like many things in life some will be more successful than others. I intend to experience the changes on my Pursuit cruise before commenting too much. Amazara will no doubt listen and as Phil writes , further tweaking may take place in the coming months.

  9. Didn’t take an exact count but recollection from standing on sunset terrace today there were more than 5 - 6 additional tables . Additional area made available is not only removable of bar area but the extra space previously used by passengers. From memory 4 tables are not fitted in each line instead it the single on by the rail.

  10. Everything I’ve read thus far officially is that drinks will come from the bar currently at the port side entrance to Windows. How it works in practice remains to be seen and how it is staffed, but I like the fact there are going to be more tables at the Sunset Verandah and that all additional seating is under cover. I know not all agree with me, but the Sunset Bar in my view is a huge waste of space on JR and QS. We’ll see......

    There is a closed off area starboard side sunset terrace about 1m x 2m. Drinks for serving with food will be held there.

  11. Also enjoyed the Pursuit visit today. Agree with many of the earlier reports. Asked about plans to support drinks service in the absence of a Sunset Bar. Was told that they planned to introduce floating waiters solely to serve drinks. Looks like capacity in outside terrace is increased by about 60%. No more walking around for table in sunny days. Side by side tables for 2 in specialised Restaraunt’s .

    Will reserve judgement until I try them next cruise 30th August / 12th September I

  12. I disagree. Two days notice was terrible. If there are 8 weeks notice you can rearrange your life. Two days before a cruise I am already at the departure port.

     

     

     

    I agree the situation created by Amazara was terrible and I like many others was very disappointed with the company. My heart also went out to Lahore. I could not have handled the situation in such an controlled manner. Her clear reporting got to us all including Amazara. I think she did us all a favour by bringing this awful practice to our attention.

    It seems that cruising companies are up there with the airlines. Apart from taking out insurance or stopping cruising there seems little one can do . The earlier post mentioned at lease luxury cruising brand.

    My point however was the compensation in comparison with the one quoted in the post, $25 OBC in one instance.

    Free cruise and decent OBC was an improvement to the compensation quoted in earlier link.

    Yes it should not have happened. Yes I’m shocked that Amazara let it happen . Definitely not acceptable my book either .

  13. We were also booked on inaugural cruise from Barcelona 3rd August. Now getting the 13 day cruise Southampton to Barcelona ( 13 nights on board) for same price , booked flights repaid and $1000 OBC.

    Happy with that.

  14. Seems like the honeymoon period when everyone , including ourselves , loved Amazara. I can sense a general disillusionment

    setting in. We share this feeling , caused by ship unavailability, unplanned changes in itinerary and poor response and communications. Although we have 3 booked Amazara cruises to look forward to but we for the first time in about 6 years we also booked on a cruise with another company. It seems a pity that all the good will earned mainly by the ships captains , officers, entertainment and hospitality departments should be thrown away.
