  1. I've seen a few people ask where the Muster stations are on the Horizon so they can plan. Also for any new cruisers your Muster station is printed on your boarding pass.

Thanks, looks like we Go to the casino

  2. Okay now lets see if I got this correct. You are getting the emails. But they have her info. Sounds to me more of a computer clitch then anything. Most likely what happened was some how when you cruise together her name was listed first on the booking. We get the same thing I gent emails almost daily from carnival with my wife's info. She gets almost none. Our cruise history is the same.

We have taken our grandkids on numerous cruises, I get emails in there name all the time, they have never taken a cruise with out us, they are adults now. I seem to never get emails when I have a cruise booked, only when the cruise is over, usually have one booked. So Don't get offers, except casino ones.

  3. Have you thought about renting a car for the day ? We did that last year when we cruised out of Port Canaveral. We took the transfer to the airport and rented a car there, drove around and saw the sights. Then back to the airport for our flight home at 6.

Actually you don't have to pay the cost of transfers from the ship. Just use the rental car shuttles at the port to take you to the rental locations. There is no return fee from port to airport in Florida.

  4. Oh my! That is sad news about the Crown Grill. We will be embarking 10/27 on the Ruby for 14 days and were looking forward to eating in the Crown Grill three or four times during the cruise. Now I'm not so sure.

It is our first cruise on the Ruby and we are already disappointed that the ship does not have Alfredo's as a dining choice. Do you think the Crown Grill has become poor on just this ship or company wide?

We were on the Ruby in March, the food was very good

  5. With Super Shuttle, for a "shared" van, they will charge you $85 (plus tip) for the five of you--$17 pp...But you can also pre-reserve a "Nonstop Van" for five for the same $85...or a nicer "Execucar" SUV for $106...

Problem with the shared van is that they take those with a reservation first and walk-ups fill the vans as needed...Then they may make other stops around the airport until they are full and then may make other stops along the route to drop off others. With an exclusive service, there will be a vehicle designated only for you group and it will take you directly to the hotel.

If you're going with Super Shuttle, I would definitely go to their website and book one of the the non-shared options.

Also, for your purposes, the Crowne Plaza is in the best location...it is even walkable to the pier--about four blocks...And, there are lots of restaurant options within a couple of blocks. A popular breakfast choice is the Grinder--on Harbor Blvd, across from the Battleship Iowa--actually in between the CP and the pier...

Don't want to hyjack your thread, but if we stay at the Crowne Plaza we can walk to the Iowa? FIL was on the ship an we want to go. Thank you

  6. Back from 8448. The balcony is huge and we enjoyed. The room shape is different and we loved all the light from the windows. But the carpet was stained, you could see light thru the curtins. Windows were so dirty had trouble seeing out. Dust in room entire cruise. Balcony very rusty and garbage along the bottom. A lot of chair scrapping at all times. Stewart talked DH to once a day and did minimum then. But we had a great time but the ship realy does show it's age, do not know why anyone would love this ship. Christmas decorations and shows were very pretty.

  7. We were also on this cruise. Ship Christmas decorations were very pretty along with the Christmas shows. Agree with ruff seas and cabin condition, stained carpet and a lot of rust on aft extended balcony and could see light coming thru the drapes. Cabin very dusty entire cruise and windows so dirty had trouble seeing out. MDR was hit and miss for temperature of meals but good. Sea day brunch is very good. Only ate in Lido a couple of times for lunch and breakfast was ok. BBQ is very good, did not eat at the seafood place but never full. We had FTTF so as soon as the gangplank was open we walked right thru customs with no wait at all. Casino was way too much smoke, could only go early morning. Sick cruiser evacuation helicopter was right at our balcony, could feel the air coming off the blades. Pretty ship but needs a lot of TLC. Forgot to mention Guys was very good first time, 2nd time the burgers were way overdone and dry.

  8. I cant seem to find an answer in threads already posted, so I am wondering if the balcony lights (outside) are manual or automatically come/stay on? (Conquest 8448 specifically) Also if anyone could confirm this cabin has a fridge? :D

Thanks for the help in advance.

Don't know the answer, but our cabin in 10 days!

  9. Jiffy Jeff is great - we use and recommend them to everyone. They have the best customer service and drivers and nice Mercedes vans. No prepayment required for their service or gratuities and they are very reliable. I suggest you call Jiffy Jeff. They always do right by us.

Have used and agree, great service and friendly.

  10. Hyatt Place on 17th has a free shuttle

    call them when you arrive

They are now charging $2.00 per person, which is really nothing, at lease that is what it says on their site. Maybe the $2.00 goes to the driver because too many people do not tip, don't know.
