We were on a recent NCL Sky cruise to the Panama Canal and our concierge told us that he would be moving to the Prima in the near future to take over concierge duties there. He said that it was going to be tough because of the small entertainment venues. He had concerns that he would not be able to get his Suite/Haven guests into some of the shows due to limited capacity, which would reflect poorly on his ability as a concierge.

Thanks for the photos @halberd7! Do you have any other photos of the refurbished cabin?
Sorry, no. The rest of the cabin looked the same as last time we were in a comparable suite.

Thanks for the pictures halberd7. Did the shower have a foot rest for shaving legs?
I don't pay attention to those things, but my wife didn't remember one.

We just returned from Pearl's Panama Canal cruise to nowhere. We were in Suite 9500. Here is what the new bathroom looks like:

We are currently on the Pearl. The Captain said we should dock at Terminal C around 11am. Guests can disembark today from 1pm-4pm or they may stay onboard overnight and leave tomorrow at 8am-10:30am. Around 20 crew tested positive and are in quarantine; all are mild or asymptotic. No plans for guests to be tested.
I tried to post this last night, but it never went through. The crew has been exceptional in providing support for guests trying to rebook flights, with free phone calls and internet.

If I remember correctly, the Lumberjack Show seating area is covered.

They were scheduled to play Navy in Dublin but it got canceled because of the pandemic.
I did not see that, thanks.

You would think the NCAA would want Notre Dame to play in Ireland.

We were in an aft-facing suite on the Jewel several years ago. The only downside I remember is the slight noise/vibrations from the azipods when underway, especially when maneuvering to dock.

I, for one, did not know there was a baby grand piano in the only Haven I visited during the many cabin crawls I have experienced. During another crawl, a wife, who was in bed reading, did not know her husband volunteered their cabin... until all 30 of us walked in the door.

Florida, where I live has now had several of the all time new cases in the last week. We are surging in new cases thanks to easing.
I think the lack of social distancing during the protests/riots may have contributed to some of the surge.

Our Oct 9 cruise out of Quebec on the Gem now shows "Your cruise is on hold, but time is running out." Final payment was two days ago and as of yesterday, I could still pull up my Vacation Summary. The cruise doesn't show up anymore when you search for it. I'm taking that to mean it will soon be cancelled.

Several years ago, we went on an Alaskan cruise on the Jewel. Putu was our housekeeper. He kept the room spotless and was always friendly. A few years later, we were on a TA on the Star in a suite. We bumped into Putu in the hallway and he remembered both of our names! Turns out he was our butler for the TA trip. He brought us so many snacks we had to tell him to stop bringing so much.

They take very nice photos for a very expensive price. You can do a sitting for free and they will put you in various poses. They will then show you the digital proofs, but you don't have to purchase any.

Here is an older post that has some good info in it.
There are many differing opinions on how to "properly" do it. Some say to talk to the Casino Host beforehand to let them know what's going on (sometimes they will donate a bottle or two of wine for prizes) and some say DON'T talk to the Host and just show up with your group. I ran one on a TA on the Star a few years ago and we all had fun. We didn't hit it big, but we all made some of our money back.

When we cruise, we are all given a sign and sail card to charge purchases, unlock our cabin door, and for use as ID in leaving the ship. These cards are necessary and they are included. IF the cruise line were to tell you at check in that there was now a $5 fee to get your card...which you HAVE to pay because you HAVE to have a card...that fee would be nickel and diming as it is NOT an option.
Please don't give NCL any more ideas! 😮

11102 is indeed under the buffet, however, I'm not certain if seating is placed there. If you go to cruisedeckplans.com, you can actually drag deck 12 on top of deck 11 and see just what part of the buffet is over that cabin.

over 11 days you get 5 meals.
for the OP, they get 5 meals
this page has a nice chart that explains it better: https://www.ncl.com/termsandconditions/promotions
Sorry, I guess I looked up an older FAQ page. Thanks.

On cruises 10 days or longer, you will receive 4 meals.

When we were on the Jewel two years ago, during embarkation they tried to herd us towards the buffet. But thanks to the info here on CC, we headed to the MDR. We walked past the buffet just to take a look and it was packed. When we got to the MDR, we were immediately seated and the place was 3/4 empty.

Pearl questions
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted · Edited by halberd7
We cruised in one of the aft suites a few years ago on the Jewel, which is a sister ship. There was a slight vibration that permeated the room from the engines/propellers when underway. We didn't really notice it until the engines were stopped in port and the lack of it was apparent.
