Can the cheese be cut at Whole Foods, wrapped, then vacuum sealed at home? We will consume it the same day we board the ship.
Or does this mean Cheez Whiz in a can is the only thing allowed?

Are passengers allowed to bring cheese and bread or crackers onboard on departure day? Also, what about cured meat such as Serrano Ham? We would like to bring some specialty cheeses, from home, to enjoy with our champagne and wine during sail away. We will be with friends and thought this would be a great start to our vacation together. This would be for consumption in our suite.
I know fruit is forbidden?

I purchased this one and have been using it for about 3 years. It works well.

I also have a smaller one without lights, but I tend to use this more. Without it, I would probably poke my eyes out and look like a lopsided clown. The eyesight isn't what it used to be.

Do I need to do anything other than turn off roaming to use the ship's Internet? Will the ship's Internet work in port or just at sea? Can voice calls or video calls be made using WhatsApp or FaceTime? Thanks for the advice.

I thought that black box plug was both surge and GFI. My mistake.

What about the surge protector on every blow dryer? I have looked everywhere and can not find a blow dryer that does not have one.

Ginger capsules work amazingly well. They are not drugs, they are food. You should not get light headed or drowsy from them.
I am the poster child for motion sickness. I have tried all the pharmaceuticals and have felt all of the ill effects from them. I'm not sure which is worse.
Ginger is a hot root and some people complain about burping the taste, but most people have no ill effects. I take 3 capsules the night before travel, 3 capsules in the morning, then 2 capsules several times a day while traveling by car, bus, train and/or boat. I haven't been motion sick once while taking ginger. I have been using it for 30 years. The important thing is to start taking it before the journey begins.
Ginger root also works well, after meals, for calming an upset stomach. Meals can be much different while traveling than what is normally consumed at home.
Talk to your health care professional about using ginger and consider interactions with any medication you may take. There is a lot of information about using ginger for motion sickness available.

OP mentioned having to wear tie on shoes. Can one wear Sketchers slip on walking shoes that have a snug fit?

Labadee is a private compound for RCI ships exclusively. You can see the ship from almost anywhere in the compound. The sandy beaches are the ones going toward Columbus Cove. The ones by Dragon's Plaza have a somewhat rocky bottom and swimming is not permitted on the far side.
You can walk anywhere from the ship in about 15 minutes and there is a tram, if you choose not to walk. One could easily get off and on the ship multiple times while in port.
With a 3 year old, I would recommend getting off the ship early, having some beach time, then returning to the ship for lunch. The BBQ lunch in Labadee leaves much to be desired, especially for a 3 year old.
Afternoon pool time on the ship will be less crowded and quieter. The little one may even be able to nap poolside.

1. YES
2. When you get off the pier go toward the left beach. There is an area that is lined with rope and the lounges are between the walkway and the water. There will be an attendant that will help you once inside of the area.

You may want to consider Lauderdale-By-the-Sea. The hotels are older, but there are some nice ones. It is on the beach and you can walk to restaurants and shops.

Stay in Coral Gables. Safe, great restaurants and not far from the airport. South Beach is an over rated, over priced tourist trap.

Consider renting a car, one way, instead of taking the train. Car rental is cheap in Florida.

The Galleria mall is on Sunrise Blvd at the Intracoastal Waterway. It has a Macy's and Dillard's and several other stores. There is a mall with Target and several discount stores on Oakland Park Blvd and US1, which is about two miles away. Look on a mapping program for both.

Bringing Food Onboard
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Thanks for the replies. Now I see that it appears to be against Royal Caribbean policy to bring an item like cheese aboard.
I would hate to spend the money on quality cheeses just to have to trash them before boarding ☹️
