  1. I do have pictures...we just got back and i will try to get them on here soon.

Kids (9,9,8): We only noticed one other child in the yacht club. My kids were not able to make lots of friends because of the language barrier. Trust me...I have very social boys who are not shy. Usually my boys LOVE the kids clubs on cruise ships. They were bored every time they went to the club. My boys are very active and there was a lot of lego time and movie time in their club. They did not have as many planned activities as other cruise line kids clubs. Not enough freeze tag, gaga ball, etc. It just wasn't for my boys. Having said that they entertained themselves with other activities around the ship. They enjoyed the ping pong tables, foosball table, etc. Good thing is they were allowed to check themselves in/out of the club...which brings me to....

My boys are very responsible. We allow our boys to go back to the room to change clothes, chill out for an hour or two (usually they are playing games on iPads), use the bathroom, etc. They are not neglected and left in the room for hours on end with out us keeping close tabs on them. We were approached by housekeeping because our 9 year old (10 next month) was in the room by himself. She told us that it was MSC's policy that kids under the age of 12 could not be in the room by themselves. When my son went to back to the cabin to use the bathroom she told him (before approaching us) and stayed in there with him until he left. Housekeeping and I guess her boss approached us and told us it was unsafe because we have a balcony. I was pretty upset about all this. MSC allows this age group to check themselves in/out of the kids club but they are not allowed to go back to the room? My kids have been on 14 cruises on different lines and we have never heard of anything like this. At first I thought it was her misunderstanding of the policy but when she approached us with her "boss" I was really upset. The next day my husband and I were going back to the cabin and he said someone in a different outfit was standing at the door while she cleaned....my husband didn't get a good look...it could have been her assistant...or someone making sure our kids were not in there alone..not sure?

MSC for me app and kids: They charge $18 per child to keep track of them. We purchased this for all three kids and it worked great! Well worth it. We could see exactly where our kids were at all times. My son had an iPod touch and he could track his brothers. It was a great feature and worked excellent. The only complaint was they wanted the tracking device which was in the watch band back at 12:30 the day before debarkation....I called the kids club and requested that we keep it longer so we could track them on the last day. She agreed to let us keep it until 8pm. Not sure if they made an exception because we are in the yacht club? It was nice they let us keep it longer.

Such great info on the kids club, tracking, etc -- thank you! We will be traveling soon with 9 & 11 year olds and I've been wondering if they're going to have fun in this kids club. They are also pretty active and sitting around watching movies isn't their thing. So happy to hear the tracking bracelets are working again!

  2. My husband I walked to the bus terminal from the port and took the #22 bus to Darkwood. Maybe a 20 minute drive? Bus was packed both ways but had wonderful conversations with a local man, that was more than happy to tell us all about the island!

  3. Yes first I emailed them and then called . I don’t know about not charging for kids under 16 . As we were 4 adults . And yes we did have to paid extra from them to pick us up from the port . They set it up and we just paid the taxi driver when he picked us up . Hope this helps

It does help, thanks. Did you enjoy the tour and would you recommend it?

  4. Are tour starts at 10:20 at Antigua buggys . Set up for transportation to and from dock ,being picked up at 9:45 am . Ship leaves at 4pm ,so we are going to keep a eye on time very closely on the tour . When I tlked to Antigua buggys said tour is four hours and should be back to their building by 2:30 pm and it's a 15 to 20 minute drive back to port.

This tour looks like so much fun! I've tried emailing the company a couple of times and haven't gotten a response. Before I submit my CC info on their site, I'd like to know if they charge for riders (kids under 16) and if there is an additional cost to be picked up from our port. Any ideas? TIA!

  5. Has anyone recently taken this tour ? What time did it end ? We will be on the island on 1/28/17 and the ship leaves at 4 pm. just want to make sure we make it back on time.

Hi, did you end up taking this tour? It looks like a lot of fun! I've tried emailing a couple of times and haven't gotten a response. Before I submit my CC info on their site, I'd like to know if they charge for riders (kids under 16) and if there is an additional cost to be picked up from our port. TIA!

  6. We're looking into the trio dining package. One of the 3 dinners is Asian Market. I'm trying to figure out the difference between the teppanyaki restaurant and the Asian Market. Is it part of? Half our family likes sushi and the other half likes cooked meals. Can we get both at the same place? Thanks!

  7. We are staying in an aurea cabin on our next cruise and I'd like to know if bottled water (nothing fancy, just bottled spring or whatever) is included in the all-inclusive drink package? The MSC rep said no. So they'll fill up a glass and give it to you but won't hand you a bottle of water? I told her I thought that didn't sound right but who knows! ;)

  8. We have stayed in both 1548 and 1552. We heard a little noise from the whirlpool drain on occasion but was certainly not enough to ever put a damper on the beauty of the room and balcony itself. In 1548 we would also get a little noise from the solarium sliding door above but I doubt that would affect you being a couple rooms down. My advise, book it and enjoy!

A couple of years later, but any chance you have any pics of 1552?!

  9. I would like to book the half day lunch catamaran cruise with Cool Runnings. They advised us to be at the dock by 9 however the Royal Caribbean rep said we won't be getting off the ship until possibly 9:30. Cool Runnings is saying they looked it up and AOS docks at 8. They mentioned they won't wait too long for us. Has anyone had this experience before? I don't want to miss our excursion so wondering if I should book another one.
