What was supposed to be a celebration of my husband's retirement and our wedding anniversary turned into a sad experience. The Silver Shadow ship  we boarded in  Seward, Alaska was not mechanically ready to sail after 6 months in dry dock. There was a smell of sewage near the elevators. The boat broke down twice which caused us to miss a port and the Inside Passage. Due to the breakdown, we missed our flight out of Vancouver. The response  by the cruise line was terse and unsympathetic.

We have cruised other high-end cruise lines and have never experienced such disregard. 

We are cruising RT out of Vancouver. Our choices are an 8:30 AM or a red eye. We would like to go at 8:30. The ship is supposed to dock at 7:00 AM. Is that too close to make it? Thanks

We are a group of 3 couples heading to Prague on 9/26 and embarking on the Princess on 9/28 in Nuremberg to Budapest. Anyone have dinner suggestions for Prague or Budapest? Was the hotel in Prague out of the way? This our first river cruise and any tips or pointer are appreciated. Viking's website indicates that there may be problems with water levels on the Danube. Did anyone experience a problem recently? Thanks
