  1. We will be stopping in Bordeaux in either May or September 2024. In the past we used a specific guide for private wine tours. Usually, we had two to four people from the ship join us. This year we discovered that our guide retired and were referred to another guide. We are looking for a guide in Bordeaux in either May or September to take us on a private wine tour. We'd appreciate any referrals for guides. Thank you.

  2. We booked Custom Air to make a stop in London for several days then to Barcelona two days before the cruise started on October 8, 2023. Our travel agent told us that Regent would not provide transportation even though I'd go to the airport on the 8th to meet the buses taking arriving passengers to the cruise port in Tarragona.  i couldn't ever pay to have them transport me. Has anyone else run into this problem? Thank you.

I wonder if that couple who used the 144 hr TWOV pre-registered ahead of time.  If they did then they bypass that line and can get the paperwork from a kiosk before moving to the regular immigration line.  We are pre-registered for a visit to Shanghai in March to catch our cruise.

How do you pre-register for the 144 hr TWOV?

    Thank you.

  4. Very bad idea to remove the piano players. One of our favorites was to have a couple of drinks and sing along with the piano player in the evening. The place was always packed with everyone enjoying themselves. I'm sure that others feel the same way and will join us in requesting that Azamara bring the piano players back.

  5. Not so great for those of us who booked the transatlantic to Barcelona. Especially B2B. No word from our TA on what our alternatives will be.

My wife and I were also booked on the TA with the B2B Med Cruise following it. To answer your question as to alternatives, basically there is nothing. The available TAs not only did not appeal but they are also substantially more costly at this point and then when we booked several months ago. Additionally and particularly for the suite class in which we booked.

Also, it would have been nice - good customer service people - to have notified passengers who were booked on these cancelled cruises prior to making the announcement. Celebrity has certainly picked up speed on the very quick Slip Sliding towards mediocrity that it has been chugging along on over the past year or so. It's difficult to watch someone / something that you've loved in the past become a shadow of its former self. RIP Celebrity. I am Bailing.

  6. We just got back from the Silhouette and visited Valetta on Nov 10 (Sunday). Our group of 6 also opted for a private tour with Joan Sheridan - joan@maltatourguide.com. Joan is the wife of the owner of Malta Travel.

Joan is so knowledgeable about the history of Malta. For details, here is her website.

    http://www.maltatourguide.com/malta_private_tours

Our 7/8 hours tour covered walking tours of the following attractions:

    - Valetta

    - Grandmaster's Palace (replacing St John's Co-cathedral)

    - Hagar Qim

    - Marsaxlokk fishing village

    - Mdina

Unfortunately our tour was on a Sunday so St John's Co-cathedral was not opened for public tours but Joan timed our tour so that we were able to get in during Church service to view the inside of the church which was awesome. We covered quite a cross section of Malta's culture and history (approx. 7000 years of history) in one day. There was a bit of walking to do but no climbing or uphill walking.

The cost of the tour for our group of 6 was 295 E (350 E for 8 people) plus approx. 12 E pp for admission fees. Tips are additional/optional. She was so good, we gave her and the driver handsome tips.

Since we would usually have big breakfast at the ship, we opted for a short lunch break at Marsaxlokk and added the Blue Grotto boat tour (8 E pp) in our itinerary.

We had set-up private tours at each of the ports visited during our 13 nights Adriatic cruise. We had great tour guides at Koper, Ravenna, Split, Valetta and Naples.

We're going to the same ports in May and would appreciate if you could email the email addresses of the guides that you used.My email addressi ben.goldman@rocketmail.com. Thank you and have a Happy Holiday Season and New Year.
