  1. Dear Sandtrap 328

I see you just came off the Zuiderdam and that you are from the villages so you might be the perfect person to ask this question.

We will be going on the Zuiderdam shortly and my husband loves to play pickleball, I know they play a ton in the Villages, so do you know if it was played on the Zuiderdam. We read somewhere that some ships are now playing it. If so did you have to have your own paddle and balls? My DH would rather not bring his good paddle. If they did what kinds of times and how was it organized?

Thanks for any info you may have on this

  2. We are not docking at "ocean cay" in Stockholm because that's in Copenhagen. We are, however, docking at the distant location which is 45 minutes away from the city.

I was wondering what ship you are on as I am trying to find out where we are docked on the Zuiderdam in about a month and wanted to make sure it was not our ship as that would be a terrible thing to happen when only there one day.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks for the great review. We will be in many of these same ports via the Zuiderdam soon. I assume you were on that same ship. If so could you please let me know if the ship offered any shuttles to the town center of any of these ports (Gothenburg, Helsinki, or Tallin?)

Also I see you took a taxi in Keil to the train station. From what I have seen on maps of the area I thought it may be walkable to get to the train station. Is that not true?

Thanks so much for all this great information

  4. Dear Danish Viking

I have read many of your responses to questions people have and you seem very knowledgeable. Thanks for all the great information.

We will be staying in Copenhagen for a few nights before sailing from there in June on a cruise to British Isles and Baltics. We would love to find a place to purchase some diet soda before boarding the ship out of Oceankja. Where would you suggest we purchase and what can we expect to pay for some.

    Thanks so much

  5. I started a diet about 6 weeks ago and have lost 11 pounds. We cruise in less than a month for 24 days and I am quite nervous about open ended eating.

I basically decided to diet so I could enjoy eating on this cruise, but now that I have lost weight and look and feel better I am wanting to keep most of it off.

I now walk about 5 miles a day and that has really helped. I plan to continue that regiment on our trip. But any real good suggestions for the constant temptation of food?

  6. What a great way to get a lot of information. We have cruised other lines, but never HAL. We will be doing a 24 day trip soon on Zuiderdam to the Baltics and British Isles and have a few questions we would love answered.

    1. Are the pools heated?

    2. We are doing the anytime dining, but do we need to make a daily reservation with a specified time still?

    3. Can we get a table just for the two of us at anytime dining?

    4. If we purchase the soda card where you pay $25 and get $50 worth is it only for fountain drinks or can I use it to buy a can of soda?

    5. Is there a service fee attached to this price of the card or do I get charged with each soda purchased?

    6. It sounds like I can purchase this card from a beverage person who sells them on day one of the cruise, but can I also purchase this at any bar, or as I check in and is it attached to my room key or a separate card?

7 We have been given some money toward a future cruise due to the price reduction after final payment. I was told that I will not see that in my mariner number until after I book the next trip. Is that correct?

Thanks so much for any response to these questions.
