I agree with this and we do this all the time in the same situation-- but I would save yourself some time and go to a hotel that is not in the port area and more in the area you'll be touring around in. This will save you the time of having to go back to South Boston which is sort of out of the way of the major tourist areas and not necessarily on the way to the airport.

Some centrally located hotels that have been happy to do this for us in the past are the Fairmont Copley Plaza, Ritz Carlton, and Liberty Hotel-- all are in areas that you will want to walk around in if it's your first time in Boston.

i'm sorry to bother you with this, but we will be in the same situation next summer and for us, being Spanish, it sounds weird to leave our luggage in a hotel you are not staying in. How do you do that? Who do you ask for permission? How much do you usually tip? How do you ask for the service? Too many questions for newbies 😅. Thanks in advance!

  2. When we did our first cruise with Holland America on the Koningsdam, we were quite surprised to discover there were plenty of films available dubbed to our mother tongue, Spanish. Two years later, on the Zuiderdam, all the Spanish dubbed films had dissapeared, and, by now, they haven't ever been back. It wasn't so difficult or expensive to maintain that feature for foreign passengers. If not, leaveing customers the opportunity to use of of those dongles would be a good option, IMO.

But it is definitely not "NY"  pizza.

As I am used to what is "NY" pizza (in actually the closest you can come to Napolitano pizza without being in Italy), the HAL stuff does remind me of a frozen supermarket pizza.

New York Deli Pizza is delicious. Of course it's not like the pizza you would eat in Italy, and also not like the pizza you would have in NY (thank God), but still delicious. Pizzas from all the other Class ships are not the same level, and I also don't like them. But saying New York Deli Pizza is not a good pizza for a cruise line, it's not true.

  4. First cruise was aboard the sparkling new Koningsdam on 2016, when we were 38 years old. Since then, we are now 3 star Mariners and waiting to receive our bronze medal very soon. It is very curious how you get hooked to cruising and Holland America when you try it for the first time. We have sailed since then MSC and Princess, and they don't compare to the quality and service Holland America offers.
