  1. Hopefully you'll get to see this before you sail, but the CDC placed the Bahamas on the Interrupted Transmission list (so no more Zika is present) as of Feb 2, 2018! (We've been watching this closely as we sail on Feb 18, and found out about 10 days ago we were pregnant.)

    Hope you enjoy your trip!

  2. So I don’t know why, but it seems my prior comment only included the link I attached. I actually had a review of that tour to share, sorry!

When we visited Grand Cayman in January '16, we did the stingray & snorkeling tour with Stingray Sailing (tripadvisor link at the end of this comment). SO GALD THAT WE BOOKED WITH THEM (<--- Yes I really am yelling that lol). It was such an amazing experience. Captain got us out to the sandbar earlier than the giant barge boats that have tons of people on them, so we got to start with a quieter session with the sting rays, and they were very friendly to our group, constantly swimming uptown and around us. Once the big boats get there, they send out workers to get the stingrays to move towards their group, so the animals disperse a little once they show up. But it was such a neat experience. Even my husband, who admitted to me that he was not all that excited about the sting rays (he said he thought it would be dumb) thought it was one of the highlights of the entire trip. And sailing on the catamaran was so nice. I recommend this company to everyone visiting Grand Cayman!

  4. Can anyone shed light on the embarkation process with Carnival out of Galveston?

Last time we cruised, it was just my DH and I, and we were able to get FTTF, so we zipped right through. This time, we are bringing our 3.5 year old and a 20 month old, and while I keep checking (twice a day, every day), I don't think we are going to be able to get FTTF again.

We picked the earliest time slot available (11:30) hoping that would make things more expedient, but after reading some other articles and reviews I'm thinking that maybe later would be better?

Any information or advice is appreciated!

  5. Hello fellow cruisers!

Fam and I will be sailing late February and want to visit Atlantis and the water park. I've looked at buying the pass directly from the resort, and it's $60 per person cheaper than from Carnival. BUT buying through Carnival includes lunch, where as I don't see any information about lunch when I look at the resort website.

My question is, am I going to eat up that savings buying lunch? We probably won't do much drinking there (save that for the ship), but will need to stay hydrated and refuel.

Any information would be greatly appreciated! Happy sailing, y'all!

  6. Hello cruising friends! My DH and I are first time cruisers, taking a seriously belated honeymoon/babymoon (we've been married 6 years and are on baby #2) in January 2016 aboard Carnival's Magic (headed for Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel).

    I have two pressing questions:

    1. For dinner attire (resort casual and formal nights), is that for all restaurants, or just the main dining rooms?

    2. Where in the heck can I find some information on private excursions? From vacations of my youth I know that the smaller, more intimate tours offer much better experiences, and since this will be my husbands first ever real vacation, I want to give him the best experience possible.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
