  1. I have an upcoming cruise with Princess in Feb17 and it is the first time I am bringing a 4 wheel Pride Victory 10 scooter. It is a full size scooter although I have seen larger. My questions are: Is there enough space in a handicap accessible room to park the scooter and move around comfortably? Is there anything I should be aware of beyond the potential for MDR staff mixing scooters up? In port at Maui a tender that is 'limited wheelchair accessible' is noted on the itinerary. What the heck does that mean?

    Thanks in advance.

You probably won't get a handicap room but you will be fine in a balcony room... i have the same scooter and it fits fine... four wheel scooters are very maneuverable unless you have never driven one!I I have never hd a mix up on Princess. Not sure about tendering but can tell you more after we get back!

  2. Aren't the strawberries a suite or Elite perk? We missed out otherwise!!![emoji526][emoji526][emoji526][emoji526][emoji526][emoji526][emoji526][emoji526][emoji526]

Oh shoot... you are talking about Carnival... oops!!

  3. If nothing else you can take the scooter apart to fit thru the door! We take the battery off to charge it so we can keep the scooter by the door. Some of these posts make it sound scary but it will be fine! The steward can help you. They are usually more than willing to help.

If indeed the doors are smaller than they say they are then

  4. We usually do this... I just add the flight info for the flight we were on... They don't care what flight it is! Just go to the baggage claim area and look for the Princess staff. We usually get there around 10:30 and often we get on the first shuttle! It works so nice! One other advantage... We give them the luggage and don't have to worry about it again! That alone is worth all the money!!!

  5. We did the black bear Atv and it was awesome! They teach you to drive... I had never driven one before... It was so much fun! Then we each drove our own .. At first we stayed on level ground but then he took us through the woods! The guides were very knowledgable about the river, area and plants and wild life... We did it the second time we went to Ak because it was so much fun the first time!!

  6. I would imagine the warm clothing needs of someone from Minnesota probably varies greatly from someone from south Florida. :D:D:D

Yes I would have to agree! Our minnesota balmy is probably cold in FL!

Layers work great and it usually is above 55 or 60... The last cruise it was warmer than MN !

  7. We have been to Alaska 3 times cruising and once driving... Between June and September... Never had to wear a heavy coat... Don't pack heavy jackets... Layer things! If you are a freeze baby bring long underwear, long sleeve t shirts hoodies Etc... You can always buy a jacket there . The last cruise we went on was june of 2013 and it was 100 in Fairbanks...

  8. Camera, Kindle, iPad and iPhone (and the requisite chargers). I take the iPhone with me at all times and use it as my backup camera. This came in very handy a few years ago when we were at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. It was very hot and humid (100F+ and 90%). All of my camera batteries spontaneously discharged so the only camera I had remaining was my iPhone. I was not the only one who had this happen - the ship's photographer was on our excursion and it happened to him the same day.

Just curious why you bring the kindle and the ipad...

  9. We have used princess transfers in san francisco, LA, Seattle, anchorage and NY... All went smoothly never had a problem. We have even used them when we flew in a day early and stay in the airport hotel. We also have used them when we flew in 3 days early, rented a car and did sight seeing... Returned the car to the airport and caught the princess bus... Is it really that awful to sit and wait? If not at the airport then you would have to wait at the terminal... Bring a book!

  10. We were on the CB in April and it was fine! Our room was clean, no problems with the toilet ( but then we don't flush anything but toilet paper!) the shower was clean, our "stewart" was awesome, food was good, everything like it was expected to be! There were some very rude older passengers... The entitled type who are better than everyone else... And i am 66 so i am not being ageist!! Being older entitles you to nothing AND it is not a free pass to be rude!

Anyway back to the subject... There are some rust spots but then it is salt water! We would go again tomorrow if my husband would spend the money! Have fun!

  11. We cruise on Princess because it gives us what we want from a vacation... Time to relax, seamless transfers to and from the airport, personal service when needed, entertainment if we choose to go, a place to play cards and people watch and a way to see places for a short time.

We don't need to be on a first name basis with the captain, cruise director, or shopping specialists... We were on a first name basis with the lovely young lady at the shore excursion desk where she went out of her way to help us!!!

There have been glitches, but none we could BLAME on princess... So we cruise on Princess because it is our favorite!

The home my senior mother lived in had regular bridge games, bingo and other fun events. They never had a problem with embarkation or weather. The food wasn't too spicy and you could bring in all the liquor you want! Maybe that's a better deal for the complainers than Princess!

  12. It is interesting to see the entitlement attitude of "I don't have to follow the rules." If a government sets a rule and enforces it with dogs it probably isn't just a suggestion! People will always bend the rules or disregard them...

  13. Planning for perfect usually doesn't work, and make you a nervous wreck and then you will get crabby and nobody will have fun! Alaska can be cool and rainy or sunny and hot. We have been there 4 times and had all kinds of weather... Bring a raincoat or poncho, umbrella and shoes that can get wet. Then plan to have the best time ever! Relax... Sometimes the bumps in the road could be the most memorable times!
