Thanks for the feedback! I will still bring a dress but not as "dressy" as I would normally wear on "formal night". Going to skip the sport coat for my DH....maybe even the tie. Won't get an argument from him and less to pack.
I suggest that if you want to go through the presentation line to meet the officers of the ship you should "dress-up" they will be wearing their "full dress" uniform and you should not insult them by showing up in shorts and a tee shirt. I don't have too many other times to put on my tux so why not.

The only difference is when there is an offer for a FREE CRUISE from somewhere ( charity raffle, travel agency, etc... ) in #1 if you are the winner of the free cruise you still need to pay the gratuities, taxes, fees, and there usually won't be any perks added in so you would need to pay for the booze plan, dining plan, et...
It can cost more for the free than for a good deal with your regular travel agent.
