  1. Hi fellow cruisers

our friends have booked a cruise to the Mediterranean for 14 nights with us.  As they have a holiday home in France they want to know if/how many days will count towards their European 180 day allowance.

Does anyone know officially the guidelines for travelling by sea to eu countries as we will only be in port for a matter of hours.

    thank u

  2. Considering a cruise to the Baltic.  Can fellow cruisers shed some light on cruising to the Baltic with P&O (2021/22)  We are looking to book a saver fare but would this prove too difficult with regard to disembarking from the ship at the following ports as the shuttle is not included in saver fares: a)Goteborg, Sweden: visby Sweden, : helsinki, Finland: Tallinn, Estonia: Stockholm, Sweden: federicia Denmark: Skagen, Denmark and b) do u have to book excursions when visiting  St. Petersburgh Russian federation?
or is best to book select fare?

Any tips/advice from any cruiser who has cruised to the Baltic would be very welcome.

    Thanks

Eager to book cruise, something to look forward to.

  5. Really pleased to hear that you got the cost of the ship visit credited to your next booking. I have never seen this promoted, hence why I've flagged it on here a few times, but we have done visits to most ships and have always had the full cost refunded to our next cruise booking. They do not have to be used for a booking on the ship that you visited. The cost of the visit sits against your name on the P&O system as an offer code. I can't recall the code, but when booking I mention it and they dig around and find it! Like you, we've never been asked about booking whilst on a ship visit, nor have we seen anyone taking bookings, but I notice on the flyer that you posted that the extra OBC offers apply for up to 3 months after the visit. This is particularly useful if you visit at a time when prices are quite high, which seems to be the case at present.

    Thank you very informative.

  6. Your post made me think and I see there is a 3 nighter cruise preceding our Canaries cruise next year too.. wonder if we should do the same! Did you get any additional discount for the second cruise being B2B?

I am sure you will enjoy your 3 nighter we just unluckily had the cabin next door to the rowdiest party goers!

    Have fun.:)

  7. Just looking back at docs from that cruise - at Khor al Fakkan there is a courtesy shuttle bus just at the port that runs back and forth all day to the Oceanic Hotel - it was £10pp for the use of beach/pool including a lovely buffet lunch. Think we did this because there wasn’t too much to see at this port

In Khasab we book the dhow boat cruise with Khourshem tours which was £21pp

    Hope this helps

  8. A visit to the mosque in Abu Dhabi is a must do. It is stunning, well worth a visit. They are very strict on dress wear for females. I wore palazzo trousers, long sleeved top, and a pashmina to coer head and shoulders. Do not try to get away with sandals. I wore black, flat pumps, together with black ankle socks to ensure everything was well covered. Entrance is totally free, so just get a taxi, or use the hop on,hop off bus (although you will want to return to the ship ASAP to remove all that gear)

Thought you had to remove shoes going into mosques!

    Thanks for the info. Kittyonions
