I’m looking at the price for unlimited wifi for one device for our upcoming Edge cruise and the price is $293 CDN for one week.   Is that right?  Last year, I believe we paid that much for a 19 night cruise on the Solstice.   Are the prices higher on the Edge, or is it perhaps a typo?

BrendaJ, did you notice if they had the social package available onboard the Solstice?  I wasn't sure if they only had the unlimited package available, because that's all that was showing for my upcoming sailing.  Just figured I would ask someone that has already sailed on her.  :)  Thanks for your help!

  2. I saw the rate for inside and balcony cabins. I know there aren’t solo cabins...that’s why I thought it was worth mentioning. I took a screen shot from RC’s web site this morning when I was pricing balcony cabins. Hopefully I will be able to successfully attach the photo. Anywho, I was just trying to share what seemed like a good rate. Hoping it can help.8353519C-6432-4EB7-8DF4-0A47FAFE5E64.thumb.jpeg.3ac8256ef6420a540475cacf42cfd2de.jpeg

I agree!  I actually did not start cruising until a few years ago because I didn't like being nickel and dimed... but then I realized I was missing out on some great places to visit. I traveled to all-inclusive resorts for 12 years and loved not having to worry about what was "extra".  Just give me the bottom line price and don't try to reel me in with an amazing per person price. But I admit, I am one of the lucky ones: I don't get seasick- so stick me anywhere on the ship and I am fine. I am never in my room... so give me an inside cabin, obstructed view... makes no matter to me. Drinking? two beverages in and I am a mess... so no need for the drink package. For my "free at sea" options I choose the shore excursion credit (and I don't always use it in every port) and the dining package... a whopping $27.40 gratuity tacked on to my cruise. Oh yeah... and I don't gamble... so basically I am the cruise line's worst nightmare! I usually get off the ship paying gratuities... and spend maybe $50 extra.

Mklak5 I saw the crazy low rate for your sailing and snagged a studio cabin.  It seemed too good to pass up.  :)

  4. Hello! In 2016 I cruised with my sister and brother-in-law (the Haven folks), and I was booked in a non-Haven room. They called NCL and asked if it was possible for me to check in with them. Apparently they were able to have the concierge assist in making this happen. It was a bit of a hassle during check-in, but they made it happen. I wish I had more specifics, but it wouldn't hurt to call NCL and ask what they can do to help you out.

  5. We are boarding the Jade on Saturday. Can you find out who the cruise director and captain will be going over the Atlantic. If you can let us know about anyone else staying aboard, I would appreciate knowing.

Glad to hear such a good report. Enjoy!

They are going to have the same Captain and CD as our sailing. Ingar Kjellin (captain) and Richard Matic (CD). Hope this helps!

  6. Is the Captain making daily announcements at noon? Is the CD making any announcements at all or leaving that job to the assistant CD? In January everyone was basically silent. Not that this is bad but not what we were used to.

I was told the ship will have the same CD and Captain. Ingar Kjellin is the Captain and the CD is Richard Matic. Hope this helps!

I’ll see if I can find out tomorrow. Thanks for the positive responses everyone. :) I, too, was quite pleased with the refurb NCL has done.

  8. Hello all! I wanted to send a message out to the NCL group to pick your brain. I've been surfing through the boards, and I haven't seen a great deal on the Jade thermal suite. Apologies if you guys have seen more posts than me about this...I'm still a novice and do my best. I realize the ship was refurbed last year, and the updates seem quite nice. I've seen a few pictures of the thermal suite on Jade, but I wondered what is actually in the thermal suite area? What I mean is, I love to use the steam room. Is this something that is only in the thermal suite area, or is it available in the fitness center locker rooms? Also, is the therapy pool a heated pool, or is it like the pool on the Escape (which obviously is bigger)?

Again, I know you guys are the experts and have much more knowledge on the topic than myself. Appreciate the feedback and wish you all a lovely day.

  9. Jessica, I was wondering which Summit sailing in April you will be on. I will be on the 21st sailing,

    Denise

Hi Denise! Thanks for the message. I ended up switching it actually. I'll be on a Jade sailing out of Miami. :) Let me know how you like the Summit though!

  10. I really liked Indy, but I haven't been on in quite a while. I want to go back on Liberty sometime soon and check out that new slide :P. Have you been on a Celebrity ship before? Definitely recommend you go to Qsine...such a fun restaurant.

I haven't been on Liberty yet, but I did see you went on Navigator. :) I enjoyed my trip on her. I haven't been on a Celebrity before, so I'm excited to try it out. What did you like most about Qsine?

  11. Thank you both :).

Jdaniels what ship are you going on for Royal?

I’ll actually be on Celebrity’s Summit in April. Last week I was on Indy and had a great time (despite the noro news). I do love Royal, but I enjoy trying new things. Actually, I’m typically happy on any cruise. Haha.
