  1. We did the tour with Stan in March. Although he is a great guy, we found the tour boring. We didn't get to actually do anything...just look. It was a bit underwhelming. Also locals everywhere trying to get your money. At the first stop the bathroom was locked. And at the beach you had to pay for the bathroom. Really?! The beach didn't feel safe and we could smell pot for most of our stay there, even out in the water. I wanted to do a review on trip advisor but can't find him on there.

  2. We were on the Emerald Princess in March. I'm not a fan of Granada. Our tour with JNJ was boring...went to see the waterfall and crater lake but that's all we did- SEE it. No swimming. There were locals everywhere wanting our money....2 guys jumped into the water at the waterfall (didn't even dive) and then went around with a hat to collect money. Women wearing fruit on their heads wanted $ to take their pics. Musicians were scattered around, also wanting $. The beach was the same...guys selling drinks, rides on inflatable chairs etc. and even trying to sing to us. The worst part was the smell of pot at the beach...it was very hard to get away from, even when we went way out in the water. They also charge $ for the bathroom! If I even took a cruise there again, I wouldn't even get off the boat. I did not feel safe there. And no, I don't believe there is any snorkeling. There are too many boats in the water. I wish I could do a review of our tour, but I can't even find JNJ on trip advisor. It was recommended to me by a fellow shipmate on this site.

  3. I have to say that this is why I have taken to recommending organized tours. ;) Leave the driving to someone else. :D

I would prefer to do a tour, but can't find one that goes where I want! I'm only interested in the nature stuff and the private taxi tours seem very expensive.

  4. Is there a place to rent a car near the cruise terminal?

Do you need a jeep to get to the natural pool, or can you drive a car there? I'm so confused about tours....I just want to do nature stuff...no churches or lighthouses etc.....

    Thanks!

  5. I tried to do this on the Legend last week, and after she spent half an hour with us, she asked for a $750 deposit!! I was shocked and said I had heard you only had to put down $100. She said that for a week cruise you had to put 250 per person. So then I said to just book me. She said that wouldn't work as we need a room for 3 and they would automatically put me in a room for 2.

We left it til we got home, and then I just chose a random 3 day cruise under my name and made a $100 deposit. I will change it when we figure out for sure which cruise we want. (vision from DR or Enchantment from panama for next March 8ish)

So with the changes, does that mean my friends can't use the certificates, even if it's the same reservation number??

  6. Hmmm....I knew my ears were ringing. :D

. More non-smoking areas in bar/lounges so we all can enjoy the entertainment.

Ditto. I feel very left out at night- I'm very allergic to smoke so I miss all the dancing and Quest games, and I can't even walk through some areas. The entire province I live in is smoke free. Can't the cruise line do better? Maybe an occassional smoke free sailing?
