I am so torn on this. I have a decent amount of specialty dinning booked at good times for me and all purchased during "flash sales" My issue is scrambling on embarkation to book 10 nights of dinning at decent times. Basically I'd get 3 more nights and 4 sea day lunches for about $200 more than I already paid.
I’m in the same position and have decided to stick with what I have and be happy with my chosen dining times and flash sale pricing.

So you went ahead and purchased a package without a description of what you were buying..…..?

Really no comparison so far. They are both unique in their own way. Australia and many of the city are so much larger than those of Australia.
I was saying today that Sunnyvale is almost 3 times the population of Napier but Napier is much more commercially developed while Sunnyvale has a very high density.
Very diplomatic answer Jim…..There’s quite the trans Tasman rivalry -best not to enter into that argument!

Jim,
Thought you’d be interested in the aftermath of Cyclone Jasper. Crossed 115km north of Cairns as Cat 2. Do you recognise the Port Douglas main st where you got your shirts? Daintree Village got 200mm in 6 hours. Weakened significantly when it made landfall but still a fair bit of flooding. Most business closed for the clean up.

Jim, I’m hearing drink prices have gone up fleet wide on every first sailing in December, with many items now over the premium price point. Some popular Martinis and Beer that were once included in premium are now $20+, with no adjustment to the PBP $ limit. Can you confirm? TIA

Edge’s arrival into Sydney was featured on the national morning breakfast program ‘Sunrise’ this morning. Channel 7. Its replay is available on the catch up app 7+. They had brief live crosses and pre-recorded pieces mainly during the weather segments. Interviewed Capt Matt (who spoke very well) and Guiseppe. The snippets were brief and a bit underwhelming by the broadcaster. They are supposed to be featuring the ship again Sunday morning with more prerecorded pieces. The reporter boarded in Cairns I believe.

Forecast upgraded to 40°C by noon - that’s 104F I believe- Slip, Slop, Slap, Slide and Shade as we have no ozone you know! And stay hydrated!

Ah, that kids petite filet looks just right for me! Do you know if it’s back on the kids menu in the MDR?

Since it’s “per package” pricing it might be a something like a single specialty restaurant, plus a single martini, plus a single room service breakfast. - Something along those lines, all bundled up. Maybe to entice those who are normally ‘room only’ cruisers. It would have to involve alcohol or gambling given that 18+ is mentioned. Only showing on my Jan 2025 sailing not on 2024 sailing.

Thankyou Norwaylady for your wonderful pictures and commentary. I am really enjoying your journey. The photos of the canal are so interesting- I have added this to my bucket list! I will be joining the Edge when she gets to Sydney for our second cruise with her. So, the excitement is building by the day. I love seeing how the menu items appear on the plate too. Sometimes you imagine a menu item differently so the visual is helpful.

It’s the US/Aus exchange rate

I, too, thought the announcement was unprofessional and really cringeworthy to watch. I got distracted by the overuse of the word “excited” and they took a long time to say very little. Are these two just giggling school girls in a TikTok clip? Maybe they could look into putting back the filet steak on the kids menu in that case.
I hope there is actually a concerted effort involved to improve the menu by culinary professionals.- 8

Don’t stress it’s all there in your cruise planner - you can see all the things you’ve purchased either in your order history or under your reservations. No manual entering required. “My calendar” on the App will also have your dining reservations & excursions pre-filled for you

Good thinking - Thank you 😊

At the end of a cruise I believe you can leave your remaining OBC to staff as a gratuity but can you nominate a particular staff member?
And if so, can you be sure they actually receive it?
-
Maybe take some screenshots of your order history so you can show celebrity you intended to purchase in case you have any problems with you credit card - I imagine it is only a time delay with your card. Great deal, huh?😊

Yes, it has always gone back as OBC within minutes. If not, log out and log back in. 😊

Hello,
We are cruising on Edge later this year. When I booked over 18 months ago, Celebrity had a promotion where you picked a free perk. I picked a classic drinks package. I was under the impression that the adults in the room were allocated a classic drinks package and the 3rd and 4th guests, being underage, were allocated a classic non-alcoholic package. I was very sure I read this fine print somewhere! I wouldn't have just assumed this.
I have just finished speaking to Celebrity about another matter and they happened to inform me that the children actually have no drinks package included and the free perk was allocated to the 1st and 2nd guest only. We are not in a suite.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
Could anyone possibly direct me to any official Celebrity T&C that may clarify this?
I know that there are a lot of knowledgeable people here and someone will be able to clarify.
Thank you in advance
Anybody onboard celebrity edge now??

I was on Edge yesterday - I remember seeing large cartons of Marlboro in the duty free store but didn’t see the prices. There were other brands too but I’m a non smoker so I can’t recall the names. Australia has a large excise tax on cigarettes that is why there is restriction on bringing them into the country.
