After reading about all these cheaper prices , I nearly booked , until I saw that it was in US$.
I put in my VIFP NO. and ticked the over 55 box.
When I changed to NZ$ the prices doubled . Am I doing something wrong ?

Great photos , thanks for sharing them with us . We have done all Cunard ships , now waiting for the Queen Anne to come over to NZ

I've just received my cancellations as well . Very disappointing , but not unexpected .
I'll be rebooking in the near future to take advantage of the large OBC offered .

Sorry Hogbay , mispelling . wrong glasses on .

Just checked the advisory that you have included in your reply Hogboy. The dates are up to April not May.
I'm cruising on May 15 . Checked my booking and it's saying that cruise is going ahead .
I'm confused now . Cheers Taffy

Thank you for your reply .
Just to add , I am a single male pensioner.
Looking to spend around $ 200 per night .
Looked at booking.com . that is where I got the hotels from .
Looked at the reviews , but they seem to contradict each other .
Cheers

Hi , I am needing a help with hotels in Sydney CBD.
I am cruising from Auckland to Sydney on the Majestic Princess in Oct 2022 .
Staying in Sydney for 5 days .
Returning to Auckland on the Sapphire Princess .
Have been looking at the following hotels.
Veriu --- Great Southern ---Park Regis ,also out of the CBD Lurline at Randwick .
Has anyone stayed at any of these hotels lately with any negative or positive comments about them ?
I have never stayed in Sydney before & need some help .
Thank you in advance . Cheers Taffy .

Hi everyone , I have just put deposit on cruise from Auckland to Fiji , sailing Sept 17 th 2020 .
Is there anyone else in NZ , who has gone the positive way ,
like myself , to firmly believe that we will be sailing sooner rather than later .
We seem to be ahead of the rest of the world, with our control of covid 19 .
8 days to Fiji & back seems a great way to restart my cruising lifestyle that I absolutely love .
Cheers Taffy .

I am going on my 1st short cruise at xmas week , 3 nights on Ruby Princess . Inside cabin .
I am elite status , I usually get double the entitlement of drinks in my mini-bar , as I pay for double price but travel as a single .
Only ever done 12 nights or more with Princess , normally have a balcony to sit on & enjoy a few drinks in the evenings from said mini -bar .
What is the etiquette for taking the drinks into the Main Dining Room , either made up or in the little bottles ?
I have never seen anyone take the little bottles in on previous cruises , but have seen people walking in with made up drinks .
What a dilemma ! I don't think I can sit in my little room drinking them .
But can see me indulging around the ship ,if I do not cause offence to other passengers & crew .
What are your thoughts or experiences , cheers Taffy .

The one that goes to the airport and back is the Skybus , which goes close , one street away from the Casino .
The one that goes to the Sky City Casino is the inter city coach from towns around the north island .
Hope this helps . Cheers .

Yes , if you are talking about the Sky City Casino Bus Terminal . Walk down to Queen St , the main street of Auckland , turn left , it is 3 blocks further , you will see the cruise ship from the last block . Total of 2 k's , walking time 15 minutes , all flat ground .
-
They are 12 oz bottles , which is approx. 354 mls .

Thank you MargoK .I am doing the 3 day cruise between xmas & new year . 27th dec to 30th dec . Wish I was going on a longer cruise , but always stay off cruise ships at new year , way too noisy for me . Other than that ,you have a great time yourselves .
-
Hope I have done this right , not computer savvy yet .

Hope this helps , cheers .

Hi there , my wife & I plus our 2 teenagers have done this every winter for the last 4 years ., before going on our cruise .
We stay at the Copthorne Hotel .150 Anzac Ave .
It is only a 5 minute walk to Queen St for the shopping & eateries ,Britomart for the trains & buses.
only 7 minutes walk to the cruise terminal , slight downhill to these places .
Being winter [ June - Sept ] we also get 4 x breakfasts included in our room price .
Average cost is only $170 per night , 1 double bed & 2 singles in the same room .
Have stayed once in march & then it went up to $ 220, which is the best I have found anywhere in Auckland CBD .
If anyone can find better prices , please tell me , as my budget is also quite limited .

Hi Ebony , this happened to us last year & it was not allowed as there was no customs agents available to authorise it . We had to stay on until back in Brisbane .
This problem might be now solved as sometimes , only sometimes , an agent is on board the whole trip .
Or there might now be an agent based in Port Douglas.
Check with the P & O website , they will answer within 24 hours .
Cheers Neil.

I have been on a few cruises this season from auckland harbour , i stay at the MSocial hotel ,right opposite the ferry / cruise terminal .
The hotel is 4 1/2 star , rooms start at $ 215 , which is very cheap considering the location .
They have a late [noon] check out time & i usually sit in the coffee shop / bar & watch the passengers disembark for entertainment .
Takes less than 5 minutes to walk over to the ship .
Hope this helps .

Hi there , we have just come off the Emerald Princess in November.
I alone purchased the drinks package , my wife is a non -drinker .
I had at least 5 cappucinos every day , many soda waters .all on the package .
My lunch at the MDR was accompanied with a couple of craft beers , onto sunbaking with 2-3 cocktails ,then a couple of top shelf martinis as pre- dinner drinks .
Dinner ,also in the MDR I ordered 2-3 white or red wines [ why buy a bottle ?] .
At the show i had 2 more cocktails , then onto the piano bar , 2-3-4 top shelf whisky's or try some rum's & gin's i have always wanted to try without buying a bottle at home .
I am a moderate drinker normally , but they wouldn't let me take my car on the ship , so it was only a short walk home !!
I recommend the package as where can you sample soooooooooooooo many different drinks at such a cheap price . if you do not like the drink that you ordered , you only have to say so & a new variety will be only 30 minutes away ,the normal time allotted between orders . enjoy ,enjoy ,enjoy . :hot-beverage::wine-glass::cocktail::tropical-drink::beer-mug::whiskey-glass:

I do many cruises from auckland each year , i live out of town & get a flight up the day before and stay over night .
I always stay at the Best Western President on Victoria St .
This hotel is only 5 mins walk from cruise terminal ,easy with your wheeled suitcases .
I normally get a standard room at $ 199 , its not 5 star, only 3 star but it is close to everything .
Very clean ,quiet rooms . handy to all the eateries , casino & 50 metres to main city st ,which is Queen St.
Which you use to get to cruise terminal .
Being just before xmas , for your cruise , you might start looking & booking soon if you decide to stay in CBD.
Enjoy your cruise .
