  1. Since we have limited time in Rome, I was looking to maximize the time by booking a tour to Tivoli on the morning of embarkation day. I have found a company that will pick us up from the hotel in Rome, take us to Villa d'Este Gardens and Villa Adriana in Tivoli, and then to Civitavecchia to board the cruise.

Has anyone done this before? Is the timing too risky? The company offers the same tour to and from the cruise port so that leads me to think the timing should be fine. My concern is that for embarkation we need to be on board atleast an hour before. My time line is hotel pick up 8am, 8:30-11 one site, 11:30-1:30 other site, then arriving at Civitavecchia 3pm (2 hours before embarkation).
