For those of you who have used Medjet, either in US or abroad, how did you get from hospital to the airport?

Do they arrange transport, or is that something you or a companion has to figure out?

The flight nurse goes to the hospital to pick up the patient and get the discharge papers and any necessary meds. Then you’re transported to the airport via ambulance or med transport van. Same thing when you get to your destination city. Remember, it must be a hospital to hospital transfer.

  2. We bought it because we were going to Europe and Africa. We actually used it last month while in San Diego and my husband broke his hip. They flew him via private jet from San Diego to Phoenix. It only works if you are inpatient and going to another inpatient facility. We chose the facility that he wanted to go to. Their staff was very responsive and proactive in helping us through the process. They even offered to fly me with him, but I decided to drive home. We will definitely be keeping the Medjet insurance.

It was their choice only after Regent was unable to fly them home on the day that they originally chose.  There is some equity in Regent assuming some of the cost of that.  What they chose to do after the first night should not affect Regent.  Guess there are more than one way to look at this situation, and all may have some logic.  As a recovering attorney, I could argue either way, but I do think Regent should not back off from their original offer of providing a hotel night.

Thank you, that is my point exactly 😀

I’m a little confused. If you stay the extra night in the hotel, will Regent still pay for the first night with you paying for the second?  If that is the case, I don’t see a problem. But if Regent wants to back out of paying for the first hotel night — then problem.

That is correct, they will not pay for the hotel on the first night.. I’ve never done an air deviation and no one mentioned that we would be giving up this benefit.

Could it be:  We can't offer you a flight the day of disembarkation so we'll put you up for the night, but, if you want[ed] to stay anyway, the rooms on you?

Yes that is exactly the issue.  They were going to pay for the hotel room, but now they won't because we are staying one extra night.  Isn't that crazy?

  6. We are on the Splendor Barcelona to Istanbul 10-6-21 to 10-28-21. My schedule initially showed a “ forced overnight in Istanbul “:on the 28th. I believe it was because we wouldn’t be able to make a return flight. We then decided to do an air deviation and stay in Istanbul an extra night and depart on the 30th. Well now the hotel is gone. When I asked my TA she said it was because we requested an air deviation. Has anyone encountered this? I’m really annoyed that I was never advised of this when inquired about the deviation.

Read my post above (post #5).  AT&T works the same way as Verizon.  With internet capability, no need for cellular at sea package.  Save the money.  Also with WiFi calling activated, no need for Whats App.  In WiFi Calling your phone will work exactly like it does at your house.  You will have full capabilities as you do at home with no additional charges  other than something like calling TO an International Number, just like when you are at home.

As for airplane mode, always keep your phone in airplane mode or you may use the cell instead of internet. That would incur a charge.  Also make sure your phone has "Data Roaming" turned OFF!  That way if you do hook up to a cell, your phone won't do any data downloads unexpectedly.

Thank you for that. When I called ATT yesterday I asked about Wi-Fi calling and the rep said I would still be charged an international rate for the calls. I didn’t think that was correct so I’m glad you clarified that. I think ATT just wanted to up sell me on an international plan💰
