  1. We booked fairly late (90 days out) for our recent Fantasy cruise. We were given late seating and thought it would be ok (we have a 4 and 8 year old). After 2nd night, we realized it was just too late for us (all of us). Went to guest services and asked if there was anything they could do. Basically, what ended up happening was that our head server would call families in 1st seating who had Palo/Remy rez to see if they needed the table, and if they didn't, we got their table. Worked out for all nights except for 1--and we just went to Cabanas at 6:30. I was surprised that our server went out of his way like that to get us the first seating. We really appreciated it (and he got an extra tip!).

I hope you are right about the prices. This trip lined up perfectly with spring break for NJ schools. I would definitely do it again at the right price.

I was on the same Fantasy sailing and booked for same week next year. It is about a 35% increase for me for same category of room (and I booked fairly late for this sailing--about 90 days out so I paid a few hundred dollars more). Not sure if we are going, but wanted to lock in this (crazy) rate.

I was almost right below you (in 7090). We also had issues with creaking. It didn't really bother me until we sailed through that crazy storm the last night. I got almost no sleep! (The rocking didn't bother me, it was the creaking). If we were sailing another night I would have had someone come and take a look.

I was also underwhelmed with Castaway Cay. I guess coming from the warm Caribbean waters of Tortola and St. Thomas, this was a bit of a let down. It was also a bit too crowded for me (was on the first family beach)--but we just brought our chairs into the water and played with our kids. I did love Scuttle's Cove, though--got 1.5 of nice beach reading time while my kids were in the club. Can't do that in too many places.

  3. We just got back from Tortola...Cane Garden Bay is beautiful! We had 5 kids ages 7-10 and they loved it! The water is clear and calm, perfect for everyone. Easy to get a taxi there, plenty of food/drink/beach chairs available for everyone. Clean bathrooms! Enjoy!!

Random question--but did you notice if any of the shops on Cane Garden Bay sold beach toys? Will be there 1 week from today!

  4. Great review! So helpful, especially since we are traveling on the same ship/itinerary in April! Quick question. How would you compare Cane Garden Bay with Megan's Bay. I think we will only do one beach day in either Tortola or St. Thomas. Leaning towards Cane Garden Bay in Tortola, but have heard so much about Megan's Bay that I don't want to miss out on a beautiful beach! Also, how scary was the ride to Cane Garden Bay? Thanks!
