  1. I am sailing on the Caribbean Princess in March of 2017. I was wondering what time the food is served/available at the places other than the MDR. I have supper time covered, more so wondering about the buffet, Trident Grill, Prego Pizza place etc as well as the ice cream place throughout the day or late night snacking....

  2. 566 days until cruise

We went to the beach twice, we went to Canadas Wonderland. Other then that we just did some visiting. We felt we were busy enough. Especially with a 2 year old..

I loved Canada's Wonderland. Too bad I hit 30 and can't do the rides anymore....headache and nausea don't make for a fun day :( :(

  3. I've sailed over spring break and at other times of the year with Carnival and have seen no difference. People are having fun but I have not witnessed any hard partiers or things getting out of hand AT ALL. I think it would be perfectly fine to sail with Carnival over spring break. When my kids were younger they loved going to the kids clubs. Either one you decide on, enjoy your cruise!

  4. Great reply!! It makes me even more excited!!

We looked at flying, but with 6 of us it is roughly $2500-3000. Then with us sailing from Galveston you still need to get a transfer to the terminal from the airport which isn't cheap. Driving will cost maybe $1500 round trip. And create many more memories....

We drive from Newmarket, Ontario, the drive is not bad at all :)

Take your time, take frequent short breaks get out of car at those rest stop, race the kids across the grass, quick bathroom break and back in the car again. Make a world of difference when you can stretch your legs. I still remember as a kid travelling with my parents and when we would get antsy they would roll all of the windows all the way down, we would scream as loud and as long as we could and shake our arms and our legs (not the driver!). Amazing the amount of energy that that gets out :)

Anyway, enjoy your cruise, I am sure everyone will have a blast!

  5. I have a HUGE suitcase, I fill it. It's heavy but I don't really care. It's on wheels and rolls :)

I suppose that if you fly weight might be an issue but if driving (which we typically do all the way from Ontario, Canada because flying with four people is crazy expensive) the weight wouldn't matter. The suitcase may have to lay open under the bed instead closed if it is too bulky but this can also double as a laundry hamper.

    Just my thoughts

  6. Weird question but do you happen to remember if there is glass in the outsides of the hot tubs on serenity? Some ships you can get in from all sides and some ships they have glass around part of them with an opening. I find the glassed in ones echo when people are talking so I was just curious.

    Thanks

Second question. I'm purchasing BB for my teens on this trip. I read on a thread the other day that no cup is included but you can either A.) purchase a cup for an additional price in the fun shop. or B.) you will be provided a cup each time you grab a drink from the bar. My question is, if I get the kids a cup for purchase is it bigger and will it be filled up? I've read on here somewhere that the cups you get from the bar are small. I just am trying to make life a little easier for the kids so they don't have to go up and grab a drink every 2 minutes.

    .

On our first cruise we purchased the souvenir Carnival cup. Very quickly we discovered it didn't work well for us. You have to always have it with you if you want to use it. Kind of a pain to have to carry it around. We found it much easier to just have them serve the pop in the cups from the bar. The size isn't too small I found. If I was REALLY thirsty I would ask for half of the ice that way I ended up with more pop.

    Happy sailing!

  8. One of the funniest things I've ever seen on a cruise were people running for cover, from the pool on the ship. It was a very short sprinkle. Hilarious!

It did free up, what many consider, some prime seats.

We did this....totally jumped up out of the hot tub (where it was nice and warm!) to try dry off and stand under an overhang to get out of the rain....really dumb move. We were all laughing after about what a stupid move it was.

  9. We will be sailing March 2017 with three boys 18-20. We have always sailed Carnival and there has always been plently of other people their age on board. At one point they would do the teen clubs etc and then it got to where they would just meet people on board and hang out. Has anyone else sailed with with Princess with older teens? Did there seem to be other people their age to hang out with? Did they enjoy it? We are going during Spring Break so I am hoping this helps.....
