  1. Hi. I'm going on Getaway (same class ship) in a couple weeks and I'm trying to decide on P+. I had it on Bliss in May for Alaska and I loved it because of Cellars Wine Bar. I could get a huge selection of wine/champagne by the glass any time of day. Is there a comparable bar on the BA class ships? I know the other bars had wines lists, but they didn't seem to be anywhere near as extensive at Cellars or the dining venues. Thanks for any help you can offer!

It was hard to get the full list because it's on a tablet and would take a lot of time to take a picture of each bottle. But this is the printed wine list they had. I want to say there are more on the tablet because the sangiovase I fell in love with, isn't listed and was priced at $31 a glass. Definitely got my money's worth between that and the Veuve! But this should give you some idea. It was the same wine list at dinner too. But keep in mind this was at Cellars. I didn't see if this list was available at all bars. So if your ship doesn't have a Cellars, I'm not sure if you have access to this selection outside of dinner. That's my main question for the Getaway before I spend the money to upgrade.

These pictures are much clearer on my phone. Not sure how to make the quality better so you can read the prices.

can you give some info on what the wine list looks like at the Cellars . Is it more than the wine lists you find on the treads or on like. I am a wine fan ( mostly reds ) but I am not impressed with the offerings at 15 $ price limit . I would consider the up grade to have better wine, but the wine lists have only a couple offerings by the glass ( reds ). Thanks

My experience in Dec 2021 on the Breakaway was that I could not get Veuve anywhere outside of a dining room.  I checked with multiple bar tenders and the food and bev manager, pleading my case to no avail.

Aug 2019 on the Epic I could easily get it every morning at the Atrium bar.  Frustrating to say the least.  I did make up for it at dinner.

Husband also not happy that Johnny Walker Blue was no longer available on our Dec 2021 cruise.

Good to know! Thank you. I'm thinking I'll just wait till I get on board and take a look around before deciding. I'll just bring a couple bottles to get me through dinners, just in case. Thanks for the quick response. Really wish they had a Cellars on all the ships. By far my favorite bar!!

  5. Hi. So I got off Bliss Alaska 2 weeks ago and THOROUGHLY enjoyed the PLUS package. I was deck 8 forward, so just steps away from Cellars. Usually stopped there first thing in the morning for my first of many glasses of Veuve. Came back to try so many different wines, I lost count! Definitely got my money's worth! I have a question though. I'm booked to go on Getaway back2back in August and I noticed they don't have a Cellars. Does anyone know if they have something comparable with an extensive wine list (outside of the dining venues). Somewhere I could stop midday and try a new wine wherever I feel like it? I would like to upgrade again, but if the extensive wine is limited to only dinner time on ships without a Cellars bar, I might pass and just bring my own. Appreciate any advice you can offer!!

  6. Hi. I just got off Bliss a couple of days ago and had upgraded to the premium plus beverage package and I was so glad I did because I really enjoy wine. But Bliss has a Cellars wine bar with an extensive wine list (glasses that would not be included in the standard beverage package). I'm considering going on getaway but I noticed they don't have a Cellars wine bar. Is there something comparable (with a larger wine list) that would make getting the PLUS package worthwhile?

    TIA!!

Hope you have a blast and get the relaxation you're looking for! Nothing beats cruising in my opinion! So many options to customize your vacation to be what you want/need.

  7. Hi. I think I posted this in the wrong board earlier, so I will post it here since it seems more appropriate...

I hope I'm posing this in the correct place, but I have a question about PPDP for anyone who has used it it. I saw a drink menu for cellars online that had stars next to wines that you could get by the bottle with PPDP. I was under the impression that you could only get bottles while you were eating, but The Cellar doesn't serve dinner. Can you still get the "starred" bottles, even if you aren't eating? Maybe have a glass midday and take the rest back to your room to finish later? Can you get a bottle of champagne, take the rest to your room and come back and get a bottle of wine? Just curious how that works. Would love to have a glass on my balcony at night to unwind and maybe order some juice in the morning for a mimosa (will bring wine and champagne stoppers, of course)

    TIA!

  9. I have a question. I was under the impression you could order food to go to take back to your room. I am going to be on BA for Superbowl next year and was dreaming of getting an order of Nachos to go and taking them down to O'Sheehans/Atrium to share with my boyfriend while we watch the game on the big screen. Anyone know if this would still be possible and if so, how they would charge it. Hopefully this nonsense is done with by then! TIA.

  10. "A discretionary charge of $6.75 USD per person per day for all guests 3 years or older will automatically be added to your onboard account. "

$6.75 per person seems a good deal or am I missing something?

"Discretionary" makes it sound like the extra money hotels charge in case you order a movie or room service (which doesn't make sense on a cruise since you have an account set up for that). It doesn't sound like they are talking about gratuities. But definitely let us know if figure it out!

  11. Sorry if this has already been addressed. I searched but couldn't find info for this specific question...

I am booked on Jewel in Oct and got the 3 meal SDP as part of the promo. I know we would like to eat at specialty almost every night. Can I pick and choose which of those meals will be covered by the promo. Obviously I would prefer the a la carte restaurants to be covered (i.e. Cagney's*2 and Bistro*1) and just pay for the Teppanyaki and Modernos myself, but I doubt we will eat our meals in that order. So is it just the "first" three specialty meals or can we choose? I REALLY appreciate your help guys!!
