  1. Are the trains pretty easy to navigate with luggage?  We don't travel light as I have to bring a whole carry on full of medical needs.  Would Taxi's have enough room for 4 checked bags, 3 carry one's an oxygen concentrator and a walker with wheels?  Still trying to figure out how we are going to do it. 🙂  We can connect the suitcases together and make a train, but still a lot of luggage for 3 people.

Ola has been in Aus for years.
    Also Didi.

Many drivers work with multiple aps and take which ever jobs come thru first. Most prefer the alternatives to Uber as they make a better profit. Uber takes out bigger percentage in fees.

My female friends drive for Ola & Didi during the day and Shebah at night.

I can't seem to get DID to work while I am in the USA.  What is the typical cost for SYD international to Kent st

Nope not an option, you can only buy Plus or Premier or upgrade on Day 1 or 2 of your sailing!

Do you know if you buy onboard can it be any 2 people in your room or does it have to still be guest #1 and #2?  Could you buy it for just 1 person?  Do you get a photo release so you can print any at home?

True - so that would increase the value by $35/per person if you use the 2 casual meals ($14.99 plus the 18% service charge) and $14.99/per person for the Ocean Now activation fee! So another $50/per person. Kind of hard to put a value on the room service since that would be included with Ocean Now.

Sorry, Confused easily.  With plus you don't pay the 14.99 plus 18%. Is there other fee's you do pay if you use the casual meals with plus?

Yes and thats exactly what we did back in november. Unlimited casual.

If you use the casual dinning is there any extra fees: like tips, the actual food in the casual restaurants.  Newbie here and thinking about trying out the plus or premier.  Can't decide which would be better for our group.  Sadly only 2 of the 3 of us want the packages so we were told we would need to buy it on board.  Hoping that is also true.  Passenger #1 doesn't want it.

I booked the Plus package once on board Ruby Princess on 12/10/2023. The charge was added to my folio minus the $10 fee for the Medallion

Are you a single traveler or were you able to add it on for just you in the room?  We are trying to figure out how to make it work, Hubby is listed as 1st passenger, but he doesn't want the plus, Me #2 and Daughter #3 do. 🙂

So as others have said, medallions are made up on the ship, not on shore. On shore we waited for someone to make up old-style cruise cards so we could embark. That took about 20 minutes standing at a desk. Then we boarded and went to Guest Services and stood in the incredible first-day line (even for Elites) and waited for about 30 minutes. Before we got to the front of the line an officer came out and asked all those waiting if they needed medallions. A bunch of us raised our hands. Our cards were collected and then in about 20 more minutes we had medallions.

Do you know if this also would also work if you ordered one of the special art work one's?  Some said they are just stickers?  Thank you.

  8. Does anyone know what happens if you order a special one, like the art showing on it and you lose it, do they give that one on board or just the standard circle color?  Also does it print your dates on it, or just name .  How does that work if you do a Back to Back

Here is a photo I took of our copy of the  laundry form we sent with our laundry during our January 2023 Sky Princess cruise - you can see the prices per item here (I always take a photo when sending out laundry as ALL copies of the form have to go with the laundry).

I am reading mixed things on how they wash things, Is everything washed in hot or can I request cold wash only and have it honored.  I don't really want my clothes shrunk anymore than they are going to be with all the yummy desserts. 🙂

  10. Would you settle for an old-style ceramic model of Monarch's sister ship, Sovreign Of The Seas? I got it off of Ebay and used it as a substitute for another sister ship Majesty Of The Seas (until I got a resin Majesty also from Ebay).

Dagama10 Do you still have it? If not does anyone else have one. We just went and the store was out of them. We would love to get one for our collection.

    Thanks

  11. Hi spedteach,

I would be very interested in the Monarch ship model, if at all possible. I have collected quite a few of the early ones, but don't have a Monarch OTS. It is special, because we took our two "early twenties" sons on it in '92, and it was a very fun trip we all remember. Would send you a check for it and any expenses you incur in mailing.

What a nice offer to make, I would really appreciate it.

    Helen

We'll we are back and unpacked and I think things are returning to normal. Helen I can't find any contact info for you, so if you could please email me off the list at Jadobson2001@yahoo.com We can make arrangements to get you the Monarch model.

    Thanks,

    J.

  12. Ron,

We have done this for someone before. :) That is how I found out about collecting them. I don't think it would hurt to try. We have started our own small collection now. We just collect from the ships we go on. We are scheduled to go on Monarch again in March. If anyone needs one let me know. :)

  13. I buy postcards in every port, and each evening, my DH and I sit out on our balcony and record on the postcards our interpretations of the events of the day. (It's fun to see how differently we each view same events!) Once we get home, I punch a hole in the corner of each postcard and then put a ring through all of them. We end up with a cruise journal with wonderful, professional "photographs" that we can look back on whenever we wish. We've done this on our last few cruises, and we even did it on our driving trip up north last summer (well, we didn't sit on a balcony to write!). It's become a tradition, and it's one we really enjoy.

What a neat idea to keep the kids busy during a road trip. I'm going to try this for this summer's vaccation.
