  1. This is nothing new and not a scam.  Bermuda has been doing random searches of crew and guest cabins before Covid.  I personally had my cabin searched in Bermuda.  It was before Covid.  I did feel violated but understand that this is not the US.  They searched all my drawers and the bathroom.  There was a female agent with them.  Again, this is NOT new and NOT a scam.  No need for discussion.  It is what it is.  When you travel outside the US, you are bound by that country’s laws.  If you don’t agree with it or like it, don’t travel outside the US.  It’s that easy!!!

  2. Always check the box that indicates you will be in area where social distancing cannot be done or you may have come in contact with someone who has Covid.  If you go to the grocery store, pharmacy, church, school, have kids in school, etc., check that box!!  There should be no charge at cvs or Walgreens.  Or as stated above, you can use a free govt test or any at home test kit.

  3. I tested positive the day I disembarked on May 29 after a b2b.  Mild symptoms.  It was Memorial Day weekend.  Called dr office on Tuesday.  They told me I didn’t need to come in and if symptoms got worse, I.e., difficulty breathing, go to the hospital.  Otherwise, stay home and quarantine for a while.  Eventually the cruise ships will handle Covid cases like they do for the flu and norovirus.  Time to get over it.  Nobody cares anymore. IMO, make sure you are fully boosted so the effectiveness of the vaccine is at the maximum if you want to travel.  If you are worried about full capacity on the ships, don’t go.  Stay home.  This is the way it is!!

  4. Make sure “WiFi calling” is turned on.  You may need to enter emergency information.  You can do this at home and connect your phone to your internet.  When you get on the ship, connect to their internet.  Instructions how to connect will be in your cabin if you pre-purchased the internet.  Turn on airplane mode.  If you have an iPhone, the only way to message friends/family or to receive messages from them is by using Facebook messenger.  If you have an android, you will be able to use regular text messages.  Sometimes when on a cruise ship, you may lose connectivity.  Turn off the phone and restart.  Airplane mode … connect to ship internet … WiFi calling on.

Totally not understanding the wording here.

So I'm Prime from 2019 play, I've accumulated 500 points or so this year. Laura has accumulated the 2500 she thought she needed.

So I don't need to worry about the last 1000 points to keep my existing status? That is not what the Host on Harmony told me. Very confusing. Guess I'll call the Club Royale desk when I get home

If you were not prime before cruising resumed and have accumulated 1500 points, you will become prime on April 1 for the club royale year (apr 1 - mar 31), however, if you accumulate 2500 points, you become prime immediately for the remainder of this year and then retain prime for next year.  If you are prime from pre Covid, you remain prime for this year and next year.  If you are prime right now and have accumulated 15,000 - 24,999 points, you are prime for the remainder of this year and will be upgraded to signature as of April 1.  So they are allowing you to retain your current status for another year with the ability to move up to the next level for lesser points because of the short year.

Hope this adds to the confusion!!!

  6. I purchased my 3 pack thru RC (Optum) for $99.99 in December for my Jan 2nd cruise.  Called my insurance (Aetna) who also administers my Medicare and they told me they do not pay for Covid testing for travel.  I said “hmmmmm.  Someone has been paying CVS for all my antigen testing for my last 3 cruises and my Medicare statement shows they have been paid.”  They still insisted testing for travel is not covered and any testing from home is not covered.  Being persistent, I sent the invoice, which included medical codes, to the address on the back of my medical card and lo and behold I received a check for $45.23!!!  I checked my EOB and it states that they pay a maximum of $45.23. I’ll take it even tho there were 3 test kits in the box and it was for both me and my husband.

  7. All shows are a “go”.  The only show that needs a reservation is The Book.

We have 2029 guests according to the captain at top tier event.

There is Covid running around.  Everyone can contract it and spread it.  I am on the ship.  I came in close contact with someone who tested positive.  I don’t know where or who.  I was tested and fortunately was negative.  It was the longest 2 hours of my life after I was notified to stay in my cabin, they came to my cabin to test me, and then an hour to wait for results.  Wear your mask everywhere.  Double mask if you can.   Adhere to the 6 person rule for the elevator.  I am not a big drinker but will take a sip and replace mask.  I do not sit at the bar.  Social distance as much as possible.  I stay away from anyone with a runny nose or coughing.  Wash your hands and use the hand sanitizer.  Keep your hands away from your face.  You can be safe.

I am currently on a b2b on Odyssey so have another great 6 days starting on Sunday!!!

Im not as tech savvy so can you please explain how you do this with your phone. It seems that you didn’t need an HDMI cable?
we’re booked on Odyssey on the TA in April for 14 days and it would be great if we could stream Netflix from phone or iPad. Thanks and enjoy the ocean.

If you scroll back, there is a post with a picture of the TV screen.  With the ‘streaming services’ option, you are able to emulate your phone on the TV.  It is a wireless connection.  It is a nice option.  You will need their internet package to access your Netflix account.  If you need help with connectivity, ask for help.  You do NOT need to purchase the ‘Cast TV’ app on your phone to make it work.  I was on Odyssey in August and am booked for Jan 2nd and 9th.

I am on this cruise, November 14. Thanks for all the information and keep it coming because it is very helpful. What is the weather like heading down to Cape Canaveral?

We did hit the tail end of the storm Monday night and had some minor rocking.  Remember, it is the Atlantic Ocean.  Take your motion sickness precautions (prescription or OTC), if needed.  Weather today (Tuesday) was in the 70’s, warm in the sun.  Had the cool ocean breeze.

Thanks for posting the Compass.  Our cruise is on 11-28.  Is it true that we can only reserve showtimes through the app onboard?

You can book the shows by using the app once you are onboard or by calling the Box Office at 2323 during opening hours.  Opening hours are listed on the back page (top right) of the cruise compass.

  11. Our server in CK said there were approx 1600 passengers this sailing.  A side note … as you can see on the copy of the entertainment sheet for this week, there is no Gift show.  Have no further information if it will be offered in the future.  For any pinnacles reading this, there is access to CK for dinner this week, just need a reservation.  Maybe someone attending the top tier event today will have more numbers to report.
