  1. Is this happening every week? We sail on the Dream next weekend and I'm wondering what to expect. We will be shuttled from hotel to port and not sure how that works once we have to be out of our room but possibly 2 hours later at port for check in.

  2. Do they have detergent, etc available and if so is it part of the charge or do you have to buy it separately? I hope to be able to not do laundry on the ship, but with kids and they way they can go through clothes, I might have to do a load.

  3. There is a ledge you can jump off of and my kids got up the nerve to do it last year and all they could talk about was jumping off that ledge again. Well of course they got up there and couldn't work up the nerve. My mom and I stood there for seriously, probably 15 min, holding the damn camera while they paced around up there. Finally we hollered to them that we were moving on. We wanted to go check out other stuff. As soon as I turned my back, I heard a huge splash. Josie. Then I barely got a pic of Sara going in. The thing is, these ladies were watching the entire thing go down, and they got a kick out of Josie jumping as soon as we turned our backs. But they got an even bigger kick out of Josie screaming "That hurt my front butt!!!!!" I did NOT teach her to call her privates her "front butt". She made that up when she was a toddler and has called it that ever since. We had to have a talk about appropriate things to shout, and about closing your legs when you jump, for godssakes!

I just literally LOL'd - we have a 9 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter....when she was about 1 and taking a bath one day, he asked why his sister had a "front butt". I've never heard anyone else use that term until now. [emoji23]. Great review too - we are off on the Dream in 20 days!

  4. One more question....

If we all decide to go the bottomless bubbles route - is there any need to bring a cup? Like a tervis (we use these at home by the pool, etc) - will we be able to have them fill them up with soft drinks? Even if just tea or lemonade on lido - can we fill these or do we have to use their cups?

  5. I apologize if I'm starting something that's in another thread but I couldn't find it.

Can anyone tell me what drinks are included in the main dining room? Are juices part of it or just water and tea?

Also, does anyone know about what it costs to purchase a drink (coke, etc) on board? My daughter and I don't drink many soft drinks so I don't think bottomless bubbles will be worth the cost but if we were to want one with dinner one night? Also if you order one at dinner and have it refilled - are you charges for the drink once or each time it's refilled? I'm trying to figure it out bc of a soft drink cost something crazy like $6-7/ drink then maybe it would be worth purchasing bottomless bubbles even if we only had a few. Husband and son - no doubt they will drink their money's worth!

    Thanks in advance!

  6. My 9 yr old son is gluten free and dairy free. I see there are plenty of gluten free options, and I get it that you can make items dairy free by leaving the dairy off or out of the recipe, but does carnival have any type of substitutes? For example - a cheese substitute on a dairy free/gluten free pizza? Poor kid - he just wants to eat what he wants on this trip and I want him to enjoy his food too, but I also don't want him feeling awful on vacation just bc he wanted some "real food".

  7. How long does it take to ship?. I cruise on may 21st. Would be nice is you could use more points towards 1 card to get maybe 20% off. I have 53,000 points. Dunno if it worth it with shipping n taxes.

My last ones came in 3-4 days. Shipping and taxes are nothing - I paid $450.59 today for a $500.00 card - definitely worth it.

  8. Just a quick question. My husband and I booked 2 rooms on the Pride in August. We got in on the 100.00 deposit per cabin and just paid off the balance for both cabins last week. If we were to find an ES deal, would we qualify for it since we're already paid off? And if so, how would we go about having Carnival credit us the difference? This Is only our 2nd Cruise, so I'm not exactly sure how it all works. I tried looking at the cruise without logging in but the cruise were on doesn't even show up now, which makes me suspect there's a price drop that I'm unaware of. Gonna have to delete my cookies and try it when I get home tonight.

Jackie - I don't think being paid off or not matters. Mine isn't completely paid off and the lady at Carnival today said I could do it - just needed to go through the website and submit the form. You get the credit for the difference either through onboard credit or upgrade(s) if available - those are the only two options.

  9. Lol you guys gotta get a personal vacation planner, I text my guy with the booking # and dont have to worry about any of this. He does all the change and I sit back and relax on my couch.

Yes I shoulda done that! It has been so long since we've cruised or gone anywhere other than Disney that my brain is frazzled and I just booked online when we found the trip we wanted. It's hard to get all my ducks in a row sometimes with work, kids, life but I'm probably the one that needs a PVP more than most instead of keeping up with everything myself. Can you have one "assigned" to your trip after you've booked?

  10. Has anyone ever submitted one these and how was the outcome? I guess what I'm wondering is....if it ended up coming out not in the customers favor, would they still make the change?

From what I'm reading it looks like you give up any onboard credit that was given on your original booking. I'm ok with that bc it looks as if the $50 onboard credit we have would be taken away and replaced with the $80 that is the price difference from when we booked and today. If that's all that's considered then that works in our favor, however....

When I called to verify this price difference, the lady I spoke with was looking at our booking and saying that we have a free upgrade - paying for 6L but have a 6M room....she priced out the 6L room to give me that $80 difference. But if you price out the 6M room, I think it would only be a $40 difference.

If they figured the price difference based on pricing a 6M room today in comparison to when we booked, would they really make that change - taking away a $50 onboard credit and then giving us a $40 onboard credit? I will leave the claim form alone if that's how it will end up working out for us.

Thanks for any info and I apologize if my post is confusing. Happy Wednesday everyone!

  11. I personally LOVE high-calorie low nutrition items. Mmm- sugar and fat! Yum. Those two things most often accompany excellent taste, and the lack of them often means lack of excellent taste (though not always).

However, I did not enjoy the strawberry cake pops. I'm not eating them just for the calories, as I'm not trying to sustain life on strawberry cake pops, so I stopped eating after one bite. Despite my love for high-calorie, low-nutrition items, Carnival's cake pops did not pass the test. Yuck.

Most of Carnival's desserts are like that for me- looks super pretty, isn't actually that good.

Skittl - ME TOO!!! I know I can't eat like that all the time.....but especially when I'm on vacation - move out of the way and let me have some good food!

  12. I have seen some cake pop recipes where you mix icing with the cake part, to help form the ball, hence the moistness and why they may seem raw.....no clue if that is the way CCL makes theirs.

That's the way they should be made. All that I've ever had (and loved) were made this way. Yum!

  13. I read something about cake pops on Carnival ships but only on certain nights. Can anyone give me the info on this? We will be on the Dream in August and do not want to miss these! My kids love cake pops, but I'm not gonna lie - I'm pretty sure mama loves them even more. Can you tell where my priorities are??? I say this as I am high proteining/low carbing/working out like a mad woman - but on vacation, I will be eating what I want. [emoji3]
