-1. The key I found was to think in terms of weight. For example, 3 silk tops might equal the weight of one cotton button up. I'll happily take 3 over 1 🙂 . Merino
This is brilliant. I never thought of weighing each top. I’ll target my shopping this way now.

I think those of us in North America do a lot of laundry and wash clothes frequently because we can. We all have washer and dryers. We have gotten the notion that things must be washed after a couple of wearings. People in other countries don’t have our machinery, so they don’t wash stuff as often.

Hahaha. The danger of posting while watching football.
Eight daytime outfits
Eight evening outfits
Still a lot, I think. I wore the same outfit to the dining room every night for 14 days and sat with the same people. Some of them were doing the same. All I had to do was not slop my soup.

I used to pack a minimum of 8 outfits for each day and evening.
I was amazed at this 8 outfits a day. Five minutes to run down to your cabin. 10 minutes to change, fix your hair, hang up the previous outfit, five minutes to run on to the next ship event. That’s 20 minutes devoted to changing, and done 8 times a day. That’s 2 1/2 hours a day spent on changing clothes. Wow.

Audition your clothes in the months before the cruise.wear each item for a day. How does it feel, look, any pulling, any rips, anything about it that isn’t perfect, it fails the audition. Once you have reduced your selection to about 20 tops that work, pick two colours. Black and beige, pink and black, blue and yellow. Whatever appeals to you. Eliminate all the tops that don’t have those colours. You should be down to about 6. Pick 2 pairs of pants that work with everything. One to wear on the plane, one packed. Add yoga pants, very useful. Add one sweater for air conditioning. One bra on, one packed. 3 pairs undies, washing in the cabin sink every night. Eliminate formal dress. Reduce shoes to one pair that is waterproof and one that is comfortable casual. Wear the heavier ones on the plane. I travel on 40 day cruises with carry-on luggage only. Nobody cares what you look like. Nobody notices you are wearing the same stuff every day. You only have to convince yourself you can do without all that stuff. Everyone I share this info with says oh, no, I couldn’t possibly…..

I recall a wind tunnel effect on the jogging track right near the main doors to the deck in the centre of the ship. If you can get through that, everything else is good. Rather close to the lounge chairs in spots, but as others have said, choose your run times carefully.

You still have time to learn how to tread water. You don't need to learn to swim. Treading water will get you across the pool to the edge, and keep you safe. We found the water temp comfortable when we were last on this ship in 2014.

There is a walking tour of Q, 1 1/2 hour long, pier to museum, labelled Strenuous. Does that mean lots of hills or rough ground? Would it be okay for oldsters who walk a couple of km without ill effect?
