Has anyone done a similar cruise? What was your experience?

Hi All

We have a 11pm departure time. Recommended boarding times are between midday and 5pm. Which seem very early for a late departure.

Can we board at midday and then leave the ship to do some shopping, sightseeing etc to make the most of our limited time in Honolulu. Obviously getting back on the boat by a specified time.

Of course they they have to do muster at some stage and need everyone onboard for that.
