You still have to show the test. That was not my intent to defraud. When I took the test I was pretty stressed at having a false positive or an inconclusive test, (yes there is such a thing).  It would be easy for someone to second guess themselves. If you are truly that concerned about being around someone who "faked" their test, perhaps you should just stay home.

Lulley, We appreciate your comments and heads-up on the faint lines and the assistance needed by the Procter to interpret the camera view. Surprised by the blunt comments by the commenters to your post. Keep posting. R/ JJ

  2. My wife and I contracted NoroVirus on Day 6 of the Pearl 10 Alaska Cruise- 7-17 May 2015- We an approx 70 other passengers where escorted upon arrival in Seattle- not sure how many unreported or crew members were impacted, so it is unknown if CDC received a report. After 15+ cruises, we thought it was no big deal, trust me this virus is terrible, and will take weeks to pass. For prevention, I recommend you wash hands anytime prior to any type of contact with mouth eyes or nose, whether that is mealtime or anytime. Virus can survive on all types of surfaces- so watch for salt/pepper, other common use condiments these items are already inside the dinning room, so be aware of what you handle- maybe disposable condiments would be advisable.

I've read several posts that the Pearl aggressively tackled the challenge of cleaning the ship top to bottom, prior to embarkation of the follow on 7 day Alaska cruisers, boarding was delayed for several hours, I'm confident the follow on cruise was uneventful. We are booked for the Escape in Jan 15- we intend to have a healthy fun vacation- but much more aware of our responsibility to hand wash much more frequently.

  3. Wife and I both contracted the Virus on Day 6 of the 7 - 17 May 15, Pearl Alaska Cruise, We both practiced aggressive hand washing practices after hearing 3 guests were quarantine on day 3 'all from the same cabin'. I wrote the COO a letter to capture my observations and recommendations. Top 3 concerns:

    1. Ship needs to be more upfront that medical services for Gastro Intestinal issues is FREE- This will eliminate any reluctance to seek care and self report- I also commended the Medical team for their care and concern during our sickness.

    2. Ship needs to be more vigilant in the Out Door Grill area- Passengers have multiple entry points with out Washy Washy.

    3. Control of viruses and cleanliness is a 24-7 operation for the ship, don't wait for an outbreak before your began aggressive cleaning of contact surfaces. Having just returned from a RCCl Navigator of the Seas Cruise-were the crew constantly cleaned hand rails-elevators-bathrooms-slat shakers- catsup bottles-etc. Just my two cents.

  4. Hello,

I'm looking for information/recommendations about private tour operators in Sochi who can provide a single day shore excursion and take care of visa issues. Thanks,

    Bogey

May want to check Tours by Locals website, I cannot confirm, but this was posted for Sochi.

'Dear guests attention YOU DON'T NEED VISAS TO RUSSIA if you arrive on the cruise liner and stay here less than 72 hours.'

  5. I checked with Carnival, this is the current online deal for past guests. A gotcha on this deal for me was my original booking was a cheaper rate even with the Bar Credit. Therefore to avoid waiting on hold with Carnival, I would book a ghost booking on Carnival for your currently booked cruise and compare the new rates, if the $80 bar credit make sense, call your PVP.
