  1. I don't know if I have missed something?  We haven't been on NCL since pre-COVID.  Last cruise back last year was Disney, and we are going on Royal next month, but I wanted to book my next one with Norwegian.  I was looking for Aug/Sept this year out of Port Canveral, and there is nothing available from July through October.  Is there a reason they aren't sailing out of Port Canaveral late Summer?  Am I stuck going to Miami?  Are more cruises going to be added?

  2. I had looked a couple of months ago at golf cart rentals on Grand Turk - we will be there with Royal on Feb 15th.  We will have 7 people - one of those a toddler, so I was looking for an 8 seater.  I found one when I was first looking, but now I am going crazy and cannot find anything bigger than a 6 person.  If we have to we will do a 4 and a 6 or two 4 person carts, but would prefer to have the 8 seater.  Anyone have any info?

  3. I usually prefer to book directly with the cruise line, but this time my Mother organized this vacation with 3 rooms for various family.  She used a large online TA, and we did get some perks.  However, when I log onto cruise planner on the RCI website, there is availability to book shore excursions and some dining directly, but when I look at beverage packages and internet there are no results and it just says:

"Your cruise vacation is packed with possibility but your specific search filters did not return any results."

Is this because of it being an online TA, or is this typical RCI technology at work?

  4. I normally sail on Norwegian, but there wasn't anything available for a good price in the week I was looking to book (Spring Break 2019).  So this is going to be my first time on Royal.  I saw that when I was booking there was the option to pre pay the gratuities, but I didn't at the time.  NCL allows you to pre pay at any time before sailing, but I haven't found anything like this on my cruise planner for Royal.  Is that an option, or am I just going to have to have it added to my on board charges at this point?

    Thanks!

p.s. not trying to start any tipping controversy!

  5. I have 2 balconies for the 4 day Cuba cruise out of Port Canaceral, that thankfully wasn't cancelled, coming up in August this year. I thought I had read some where awhile back that there was going to be open bar like the Sky cruises, but haven't seen anything about it since booking. And when I look at 'Explore & Plan' there is not the option to buy the UBP. Does any one know if this was just a rumor I read somewhere? Or did I dream it up?

    Thanks!

  6. I called this past Friday, and earlier today (Monday), and was told both times that there were no upsell offers at this time. I know for a fact people on my sailing have done upsells, so I think it must be because I am in a studio. I plan to try again up until it would be too late for me to print out new e-docs.

  7. I had the same problem a few days ago for my 5/21 sailing on the Escape. When I logged into MyNCL it just showed a blank gray bar on the DSC section. I called the customer service number and paid it over the phone. I got an invoice in my email before we hung up. Might just be the website is having some glitches at the moment.

  8. I know, I know - another upsell question. I did search through the last several months worth of posts on upsells and did not find the answer to my somewhat unique question.

I am booked in a Studio on the May 21st sailing on the Escape. I am perfectly happy with it, but wouldn't mind a balcony as well. After reading through all of the upsell posts, I started to wonder if it was even possible to go from a studio to a higher category. After doing a few mock bookings it looks like there are still plenty of cabins that have balconies available.

Has anyone done this - and was it different from a regular upsell? Do you end up with a pp total that is multiplied by 2 for a single occupant?

  9. I have a few questions that I hope you guys might have some info on. I am booked on the Escape 5/21 in a solo studio, and though final payment is not yet due, I am all paid.

For reference I am 29 and am going on this cruise for my 30th bday. My brother, who is 19, has expressed interest in coming along, and so far our parents have said it would be ok with them. When he was a minor I often acted as his legal guardian when they were not available, but I am not sure that still applies now that he is a legal adult.

    My questions are as follows:

    1. Is it possible to change my booking and add a passenger while not losing the free promos I got when I booked (SDP4 and UBP)?

    2. NCL states that young adults (18-20) may drink beer and wine while aboard if their parent or legal guardian signs the waiver at guest services (https://www.ncl.com/faq/guest-conduct-policy )- will they accept me as legal guardian in this matter? What proof might I need?

    3. If both 1 and 2 happen, would he be eligible for the UBP for the wine and beer only? Or would this be out of pocket?

    4. Should I try to call them to cancel and rebook, or would it be possible to do this as an upsell when it gets closer to the sail date?

    5. I have a passport, he only has a DL - it is closed loop from Miami - I wouldn't need to do a rush passport for him, would I?

I'm sure I might be leaving something out in my questions, and I should probably just call NCL with these questions, but the last time I called them with a question I got conflicting answers. So if anyone has first hand experience with this, I would appreciate your replies.

    Thanks!
