  1. I was in St Thomas in Dec and the water was 82. go to the rocky part of sapphire beach by the boat docks, my wife and I rented a condo there for 10 days GREAT snorkeling there and it is public. we saw rays, turtles, octos, puffers, lobsters and tons of different fish, don't let the barracudas scare you they are just inquisitive.

  2. That is during spring break, schools split it up starting in mid March to mid April, I have found the best way to avoid kids is go the last week of April to the end of May or mid September to mid November and take cruises longer than 7 days. To make your chances even better take Celebrity, They don't cater so much to families and are still affordable unlike others like Oceania.

  3. We will be driving down from Western Massachusetts the morning of the cruise for the Anthem, so it will be a week day. What are the best directions, coming from the Springfield, MA area and will be headed to the Enterprise Rental Car on Kennedy Blvd. I've heard that the Tappan Zee bridge might be better, but none of the directions are giving it that way.

    Thank you.

Heck no, the Zee is way out of your way, If I were you I'd come down the night before, at least try to get south of the GW, anytime after 6am you could be screwed trying to get anywhere on time. heck down through Bridgeport sucks also, if you come down the morning of do it very early, like hit the GW between 4 and 5am and try to stay on the upper deck, stay in the far left lane for express and watch for NJTP I95 exit on right, it will be the first one so stay in the right lane.

On Wednesday it took me 2 hours at 6am to cross the GW to the Throgs Neck about 10 miles.

I'm a truck driver for the northeast and am on these roads everyday.

  4. Well the DW booked a 9 night to Charleston, PC, Miami, Nassau, and Coco Cay. She booked a panoramic OV. I noticed on our my cruises, can't enter our C&A numbers, or can't see our balance or doesn't say make payment. How long does it take?

JW how's the entertainment, daily activities, as there's 3 sea days, what's the pool area like, solarium? I think it's got the Coca Cola freestyle machine, is that true. Anyone stay in the Panoramic OV and your thoughts on 8539 for noise, space, storage.

I didn't choose this one I would've gone for Anthem or Oasis class but any cruise is better than none.

The Grandeur is a nice ship, it is older built is 1996 and remodeled in 2012 or 13 I think, it holds like 1900 guests so it is smaller but I kind of like that, the soda or pop (depending on where you come from) machines in the windjammer are only available when the WJ is open and half the time the one at lattitudes is not working or out of ice, that was a pain.

The pool is nice but I have never been able to get in it, it was always filled with kids as were the hot tubs, the solarium is nice and but hard to keep the kids out of there also, mostly rude people taking babies in there and putting them in the pool with diapers on "gross".

I stay on the ship in Nassau, I've been there a few time and am not interested in getting my hair braided or accepting a free bracelet for a small donation or being fallowed around by aggressive sales people.

I love Coco Cay, if you want to get away from the crowds, fallow the signs for Barefoot Beach, the beach is off the beaten path down a trail, you will run into to chickens along the way just wandering around in the trees, the beach has lots of chairs and some hammocks and best of all a bar.

Check out the Viking Crown on deck 11, it is a nice quite place to hang out with great views

    Have fun on your cruise.

  5. I hope someone can help me. We are driving from MA and staying at either the Embassy Suites or Country Inn Suites, both in Elizabethtown, NJ). Is the road from these hotels to the port easy to get to?

Have they finished up all the road construction that was going on to get into the port from the highway? I've read from the hotel descriptions that it is easy to get to the port but not sure if that's true or not. Is it easy to get there, easy signs to follow? Should I consider leaving my vehicle at the hotel and take advantage of their shuttle?

We will have at least a 3 1/2 drive back home so I am trying to avoid hitting all the major traffic on Thanksgiving weekend when we get off the Anthem.

I've printed out the directions some have posted in previous posts but that was awhile back.

It's easy, take exit 14 for I78 and fallow signs for I78 East, cross the bridge and take the first exit 14A fallow signs for 440 South for like .5 miles or less watch for cruise terminal signs, road is on left.
