  1. Hi everyone. Its been 9 years since my last visit to stmartin🤪 going back in october but now with our 2 kids, plus another family. Were looking for a good beach were we can spend a few hours and rent umbrellas/chairs and have food/drinks nearby? And where its easy to grab a taxi to and from…

i know theres several nude beaches so im just hoping I can find a good suggestion lol

we’re also hoping to go over to maho beach in the afternoon and see some planes.. thats why I would love a beach that has easy taxi access!

    thank you!!!!

  2. Hi, my family and I will be on the seashore in october , first cruise post lockdown🥳& this will be our first experience with MSC in USA.. weve sailed various times out of europe. so im a little confused with the specialty dinning…

for specialty restaurants is it necessary to book a package? Or can u select individual restaurants onboard? If so anyone know the prices?

Also if i book the duo or trilogy experience package do I have to dine exclusively in the mentioned options in each package… or lets say I rather dine in the hola! Tacos instead of butchers cut. Can I switch?

hope that was clear, thank you!!

We will be on a 7 nights Caribbean cruise on the MSC divina starting July 10.  This will be our first MSC cruise.   There is a Duo Dining experience offered at $75.00/person.   We are not big on raw fish/sushi, so can we chose to dine both times at Butchers cut?    If not do they have other food option besides sushi (fish) at the Galaxy Sushi like Shrimp Tempura or Teriyaki?    They don’t show restaurant menu on the MSC website like Royal Caribbean does.    Or can we just book one restaurant experience at Butchers cut when we’re on the ship and how much?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Wow Thats a great deal! Were on the seashore in october and the duo is at $100 p/p😳 I wonder why the difference?!? This will be our first Msc cruise out of the US, have sailed couple times from europe. We hope to enjoy it. Have fun!

  4. With your attitude, you will have a GREAT time on MSC. What ship? Enjoy Barcelona and the port is very close to Las Ramblas which is a street with many attractions, food, etc. If you go into Barcelona to spend a day or more, go to this site to read about the city and so many things to do and see.

Then pick any link to see what it has to offer.

Thanks!! We sure do hope to have an amazing time.. MSC orchestra is the ship, 11 day saling to italy france spain & malta...

Thanks for the link recommendation! This will be our third time visiting barcelona lol but im sure i can still read/find something I havent seen/done!! We will be staying 3 nights pre cruise and 1 night post. We absolutely love barcelona its one of our favorites. :)

  5. We have cruised HAL since 4/95 and cruised MSC in the Caribbean since 1/06. At one time TAs would indicated/imply that tipping on HAL was not required since it was already included in the cost of the cruise. However, that was not true. In fact, during the disembarkation briefing the Cruise Director would mention that if you wanted to tip, they would appreciate it. Years later HAL started to ask that people would tip. So, HAL is like all the other cruise lines in the way of tipping, Specialty Restaurants, etc., in the way of extra charges.

We remember when the Pinnacle Grill on HAL first came out. It was free for the first visit during your cruise. Now, I think they charge just like the others do.

As for MSC, it has been in the Caribbean when the old CEO from Celebrity took over MSC Caribbean operation back in 2006?. I can't remember his name. But he tried to make MSC in the Caribbean just like the other cruise lines that operated in the Caribbean.

People say the MSC is trying to become more American in the Caribbean. We think that MSC is no different than any other cruise line that operates in the Caribbean with the exception of the many languages they use when they make announcements. The food may seem more Italian in the way of pizza, pasta, etc., and they do not really have comedy entertainment due to the languages.

Bang for the buck, is really MSC. They allow you to choose what you really want to add to your cost such as drink packages, and other things based on the cabin categories. MSC has some beautiful ships such as the Divina. Price an MSC cruise then price a Celebrity cruise and see the difference.

Celebrity does provide packaging prices now and started that maybe a year or so ago. So do other cruise lines. They are all taking the same approach. Build your own package to suit your needs/desires.

Regal, Seaborne, Crystal, etc., are inclusive and you pay the extra up front. Cruise lines such as RCI, Princess, Celebrity, NCL, etc., are not inclusive. They allow you to decide what you want in the way of drink packages, etc.

Many people have a favorite cruise line. Each cruise line offers something for everyone. We cruise most of them and enjoy them all.

Try MSC! Go with a positive attitude. Remember, it is your money, your cruise and your opinion that counts when you book your next cruise. No one can tell you what you will like of dislike. They are telling you what they liked or disliked. Happy Cruising!

Thank you so much for a positive outlook on MSC, we (fiance/me/soon to be newborn- due to tommorow haha):D just booked 11 days on MSC for april out of europe (barcelona). Yes i know call us crazy, going with an 8 month old but we love to travel & hope to get our little one into it the earlier the better.

We did 12 nights italy & greece last year on celebrity & it was absolutely amazing. Im reading all these reviews on msc now and im scared to be honest. Although the majority I seem to find are USA sailing experiences. We make the best out of every vacation because its better than being at work! so im hoping to have a great time as well! I hope we made a good choice after all they are known for europe sailings

  6. Thank you so much for your review!

My Boyfriend and I are saliling this exact itinerary on the equinox on October 3 and its always nice to find reviews to get better insight.

Are there any tips you could probably give me? In Salerno, is it a good port to DIY? I would like to take an excursion to capri most likely but would also like to take in salerno on its own/ have lunch look around perhaps. This seems to be the one port Iam having most issues researching on lol. Athens is another one that has me reading all over the place lol:confused:

I visited spain/france/Italy 2 years ago on a two week land vacation but this will be his first European experience and we are soo excited, it will be our first time sailing on celebrity so it double the excitement! we will also be spending 3 nights in paris pre cruise:D

once again thank you for the nice review!
