  1. No they weren't on the beach at all, just back on the far side of the island, I was just wandering around over in the trees LOL They aren't like our honey bees and wasps and I don't think they have venom like bees do. I'm allergic to wasps but these didn't bother me other than just hurting think they are more like horse flies, they hurt bad I didn't have any swelling or reaction to them at all.

Glad you didn't have a reaction!

  2. Yes at Passion island the buffet will be safe for you to eat. It's as safe as eating on board the ship. Be sure to walk around the island and check out the iguanas, you probably won't see them down on the beach but wander around back behind the buildings and up in the palms and they will be all over. They are use to people so you can just walk up by them (obviously don't touch lol). They are so cool and you can get some great pictures. But watch out for the stinging bee things they have, I don't know what they are but they like to attack your ankles and they hurt like heck, you will have spray on though so shouldn't have any problems with them.

It's good to know they have bees or whatever since my DH is allergic! Thanks! Did you see them on the beach too?

  3. It's been a few years but when we did the passion island excursion they did serve bottled water not just other drinks even though it's not on the list so you might want to email and ask if you decide you want to go with that one and check. I bet they will have water. They don't only have bottled water they also used filtered ice to keep the drinks cold. Remember a lot of vendors on the street selling bottled water are using tap water for ice. You do not want to be drinking out of bottled water, soda etc that's been chilled in ice made from tap water. It's just as bad as drinking tap water because all the bacteria is now on your bottle and being pregnant that's not a risk you want to take. Make sure the ice used to chill is filtered too.

Passion island is beautiful, we are going to Coz again in Oct and Dec and will probably go to PI again on our Dec trip. May have to take the twister over again with our girls, they haven't take a high speed boat ride like that before, it should be fun, Dh and loved it when we did it. Definitely not something you can do while you are pregnant but something fun to think about for later.

I definitely thought about ice and all for other drinks. I think I'll just stick to taking water with me. What about the buffet? Do you think that will be ok? Thanks for your help!

  4. Hi,

I guess don't understand why you'd think you are not allowed to bring water off the ship??

When folks go on excursions with walking or to beaches or even just to walk around a town on your own it would be pretty normal to bring water.

I didn't know if you could take it off the ship. It's been 5 years since my last cruise so I couldn't remember lol

  5. Yes...you can bring water OFF the ship. You will have to dispose of opened containers before you rebound...not a big deal.

There is nothing wrong with "regular" water (except in Mexico...I'm with you, there!)...

The ship's water is fine. Water is H2O...that's all. No nutrients...but a "must have" to live!

Clean water is fine....and the ship's water is clean...as is tap water anywhere (except for Flint MI) in the USA.

I'm just worried they won't have bottled water on the excursion. Lol. I'll be taking some off the ship then! Thanks

  6. No. But if you have an excursion that includes lunch and beverages, you may be able to get bottled water that way. Your best bet is to either bring a refillable bottle with you and fill it with ice water before leaving the ship, or purchase a couple of bottles before walking down the gangway. The Tervis brand of water bottles is really good. But, like any brand of insulated water bottles, keep it out of direct sunlight and the water will stay cooler longer.;)

Thanks. I have some of the tervis tumblers that I'll be bringing. I just wasn't sure if we could take them off the ship

  7. Hi. I was at Passion Island in April. There is no problem taking water off the ship in any port. I have a 24 oz water bottle I fill and take off the ship all the time. There is also Carnival crew members selling water bottles to you as you depart the ship. So if you wish, you can take the water ashore without any problem. When you return, they will not let you bring an open bottle of water back onto the ship. As for the local water, I know that the water (and ice) on Passion Island is quite safe to drink. But don't forget though, you have "all you can drink" included in your excursion.

Do they give you bottled water at the island? Thanks for the help!

  8. You can definitely take water off the ship and you can also buy it on land in all the ports. Please be sure to wear mosquito repellant (speak to your doctor about what is safe) due to the presence of Zika Virus in Mexico. Definitely get your doctor's advice in regards to traveling in Mexico and the Caribbean at this time.

Thanks for the advice. Will definitely look into mosquito spray!

  9. Hello! My DH and I are going to Cozumel and Progresso soon. We just found out I'm expecting. I was wondering if they would let us bring bottled water off the ship to drink while in the ports? I don't think they normally would, but I don't want to drink regular water. We are probably doing the Passion Island excursion, so maybe I could just get bottled water there? What do y'all think? Thanks!

  10. Always get a balcony since first time got one. Just makes room feel larger and someplace to sit and relax away from everything. Plus not as annoying when waiting for the wife to finish getting ready.

Lol I'm sure my husband will use it as a place to wait for me to get ready, too

  11. If you're wanting it for onboard messaging, all the ships have the social media package I believe. The HUB messaging is $5 a day. And the social media internet package is less than that. You can iMessage, Facebook message and use whatsapp. I think it's a better deal than the HUB.

I didn't think about that! Great idea. Thanks!

  12. Not yet, here is a list of the ships with the Hub APP available:

On board the Carnival Breeze, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Glory, Carnival Pride, Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Vista.

    Have a great cruise!

Well that kinda sucks. Thanks though! :)
