  1. The carnival representative said that they do extensive relocation for lost items. He said that items left in cabs or ports even from other cruiseships are turned over to Carnival's lost and found since they seem to have the extra staff and go out of their way to try to return lost items. So I would have to say to those who never got their things returned...they were found by someone who was dishonest and kept it for themself.

It is refreshing to realize there are honest people out there who 'do to/for others what they would like others to do to/for them"

  2. Just got a call from a Carnival Lost and Found Representative. DH 'lost' his camera on board the Victory Feb 17 cruise. They found it and called to verify cc and addy info.:) He said his job was helped by the fact that DH gave him the serial number on the camera.

He suggested that the most helpful thing that cruisers can do is to take a pic of your sail and sign card that shows name and sailing-much easier to discover who owns the item

  3. This is fine on non-elegant nights... However, on the elegant nights no shorts are allowed even for kids... On my last cruise a month ago on the pride, I did see a child turned away on elegant night with shorts.. Obviously, sometimes a ship may let it go, but it does happen that even kids are turned away on elegant night

It must depend on the ship and maître d' - was on the Victory for feb reading week and saw plenty of shorts and tshirts in the main dining room on casual AND elegant night

  4. Might want to take your own little envelopes. We just got off the Victory last Saturday. We were in a suite and there were no envelopes in the room for the tip, so hubby just gave them the bills in a handshake. We tipped our main steward but not his assistant b/c he seemed useless. We tipped the head waiter b/c he was very knowledgeable about the food choices and could explain terms we didn't know, but left nothing for his assistant who tried to fudge his way thru explaining dishes rather than saying "I don't know, let me check."

  5. Just off the victory last week. Might want to check on delivery BEFORE giving the tip. I gave the tip, and then sat down in cabin and saw what was missing from my order:o We were in a suite and I stupidly assumed that the order would be perfect, but it wasn't. Next time I ordered, I checked and it was correct. So it was definitely hit and miss

BKFST orders seemed to come on time. Deli orders during the day or eve seem to take longer
