Are cruise ships going through Tracy Arm yet this season? Recently I read that they were being diverted through another route because of ice. Any updates on this? Thanks!

I am going to be in Juneau on August 1 and am scheduled to be on a catamaran through Tracy Arm Fjord earlier that morning. Would it be overkill to then do whale watching in Juneau that afternoon? Do people ever see whales on the catamaran through Tracy Arm?

I am considering doing the Dyea Dave tour in Skagway in a few weeks and I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on whether I should ride with Dyea Dave round trip or is it worth paying for the one way train ticket back? Also, does anyone know where I would be taking the train back from? Thanks.

Is there any benefit to purchasing an internet plan before your cruise leaves? From what I have read, it seems that there might actually be better deals if you buy onboard (e.g., buy a plan for one device and get the second half off). As of right now, I can buy an unlimited package for one person for $179. That doesn't seem like a great deal at all. I am sailing on the Solstice at the end of July, if that makes any difference.

Do you think that going on a whale watching excursion in Juneau after the catamaran is overkill?

Why didn't you get to see the Tracy Arm Fjord? I am taking this cruise on July 29 and am wondering if I will get to see it.

My wife and I (both in our early 30s) are looking for a fun excursion in Ketchikan. I noticed that there is a helicopter tour there and I was wondering if Ketchikan is a good area for a tour like that. I'm also open to any other Ketchikan excursion that people highly recommend.
