  1. I hit send too early. The tour was a great activity, though not a beach. We went to the visitor center, walked a trail, went to an observation tower, and saw a waterfall. I know the are some independent excursions that might be within your time limits.

  2. We flew JetBlue to California recently and I loved them! Great snacks, comfortable seats. We almost always go with the lower cost airline to our destination, but if the price difference isn't huge, we'll fly Jet Blue again.

  3. I booked it on hotwire over the summer - the rate was $103 per night and there was a $10 "summer splash" coupon for use on hotwire, so I managed to snag that deal on top of the low rate. On hotwire it was listed as a 3* with a 100% approval rate.

  4. We will be in St. Martin in February and have a ship excursion scheduled for 12:30. We dock at 8 am - will there be time to do anything in the morning before the excursion, or should we just hang out on the ship until it is time to go? This is our first cruise so I am not sure if there is anything we "should" do before our excursion (a catamaran snorkeling excursion). Any recommendations?

  5. The port is almost within walking distance from the Hyatt House - at least from what I have researched (this is the Pan Am pier, not the one in Old San Juan). The negative about the Hyatt House is that it is NOT in OSJ or on the beach - so you have to take a taxi in to those area. We were looking solely for cost for our pre-cruise hotel, though. Staying in OSJ would probably be a lot nicer!

  6. We haven't been yet - we have older kids and have been doing some research on what we should do on the island. I did notice there is a bicycle rental place and they say they have a rear-rack toddler seat for bikes and also a child's tow-along trailer bike (the type that the child pedals while it is attached to the adult's bike). Would something like that be an option? I don't think you could do a tour since they have minimum ages, but it might be fun to rent bikes and tour on your own?

  7. The Hyatt House was listed as a 3 star on Hotwire. Not only was it $103 per night (yay for great deals), I had another $10 off from the betterbidding site - so it really was a steal! The hotel amenities were listed as free parking, free internet, smoke free rooms, fitness center, pools, internet access, and golf nearby.

  8. Where did you find that great price on the Hyatt House??

It was a Hotwire Hot Deal - the name wasn't released before I purchased it, but it had a 100% satisfaction rate. The rate was so fantastic I couldn't pass it up, even though I wasn't sure what hotel it was until I bid. It was the Hyatt House, and I am quite pleased at the deal.

  9. We haven't been to our hotel yet - but we did get a great deal on the Hyatt House San Juan for Feb. 2017. It's near the cruise port, but not in OSJ or in Condado. We won't have a beach view, but for the price ($103 per night), we snagged a room there. It also includes free breakfast - we have 2 kids, so that is a nice extra and saves a little cash.
